My oh my, what would the critics, the Civil War publications, publishers, and bloggers do if it weren't for the bad boys of the Confederacy and those who study them and also those who wish to honor their ancestors who fought for the Confederacy?

I'm comfortable that I'm right. Either that or the Official Record and every book I've read on Sumter is wrong as well.
Surely not you?
Ooooh! Ooooh! Please explain it to us! This should be good.
Oh, and no - I’m more amused at your inanities. Your idea of ridicule is akin to attacking your opponents by throwing yourself in front of their truck.
It doesn’t work out so well for you but it’s funny as heck to the rest of us!
Lincoln's son destroyed much of Lincoln's unfavourable papers according to Herndon IIRC.
What sort of papers would those be? Wheeler-dealer letters about appointments? About screwing the States and courts? About the origins of the War, or his colonization-movement enthusiasms? The illicit cotton trade through the Civil War lines? Voter suppression in New York?
Lincoln post-mortem is such a marble man, it's hard to guess in what area those papers would have been.
Oh, I'm a good old Rebel, Now that's just what I am; For this "fair land of Freedom" I do not care a damn. I'm glad I fit against it- I only wish we'd won. And I don't want no pardon For anything I've done. I hates the Constitution, This great Republic too; I hates the Freedmen's Buro, In uniforms of blue. I hates the nasty eagle, With all his brag and fuss; But the lyin', thievin' Yankees I hates' em wuss and wuss. We got three hundred thousand Befo' they conquered us. They died of Southern fever And Southern steel and shot; And I wish it was three million Instead of what we got. I can't take up my musket And fight' em now no mo', But I ain't a-goin'to love' em, Now that is sartin sho'; And I don't want no pardon For what I was and am; And I won't be reconstructed, And I do not give a damn.
None of the above?
You said: “I’m comfortable that I’m right...”
Right about what?
Strangely, his answer was: Surely not you?
That was a really lame attempt on his part.
As we have all seen in dealing with poster non-sequitur, he will post endlessly on the most irrelevant points. On matters of importance to him, he will use red-herrings, straw man arguments, non-sequiturs, outright misrepresentations, and the occasional canard.
As stand watie has pointed out, he engages in bashing just for the fun of it. He also likes to amuse and seek the approval of his notable pals here, Ditto and X.
But notice this....he is running out of steam. Your posts have exposed his arguments as full of bull, just as they have been for years.
Yep, you’ve really got him on the ropes...*snicker*
The Neo Yankee State-ist fears any southern separatism movement. He tries to use the past as a canard against the present day situation. They are evil, spouting their Constitutional defenses, even while the left defecates on the once venerable document. Their goal is to keep it licked clean.
Wouldn’t the name alone have given you a clue?
In Non-Sequitur’s defence, he knows more about the Civil war and can document it on these threads faster than anyone I have ever seen and I commend him for not allowing such juvenile tripe as normally get posted on these threads to go unanswered.
stand on the other hand makes stuff up as he goes along and has for years, just ask him to retell the tale of how the confederate navy captured a u boat during WWII and displayed it in Galveston Texas.
The sole documentation of this event is recorded in a book no one but stand has ever seen or heard of, as for the U boat itself one would think that such a prize would be a center piece of the city of Galveston and yet there are no records at all of it ever being displayed there.
Everything I post. But specifically the size of the resupply effort for Sumter and Pickens being considerably smaller than you claim. I can't vouch for the accuacy of the quote from Klein since I've not read the book. But I've read other books on the subject and the documents on Sumter in the OR and the idea that it was a dozen or so ships and 3,000 or so troops is not supported by anything I've seen in any source.
It was a sarcastic answer to an idiotic question. What do you mean 'who paid for it'? The federal government, of course. The budgets for the Navy Department and the War Department covered it. You want to imply that Lincoln violated the Constitution by appropriating money for the resupply effort instead of Congress. Such an implication is too ludicrous to deserve a reasonable answer.

Irrelevance, exaggerations, and canards are your area, not mine.

ROTFLMAO!!!!! When you and you Southron buddies exhaust your supply of fairy tales, you call your opponents liberals, homosexuals, Nazis, Commies, speculate on gender, all in an attempt to insult. Attempts at bashing comes from below the Mason-Dixon Line, not above it.
But notice this....he is running out of steam. Your posts have exposed his arguments as full of bull, just as they have been for years.
Your imagination knows no bounds, and your self-delusions are endless.
We Yankee's are amused at your claims of any Southern sepratist movement. You are the lunatic fringe of rebeldom, and good for laughs. Nothing else.
They are evil, spouting their Constitutional defenses, even while the left defecates on the once venerable document.
What are you complaining about. "I hate the Constitution...I hate the Declaration of Independence, too." If it's being dumped on I'd expect you to be the first in line to squat.
I would not respond to somebody that I thought was a "lunatic fringe" type. Since you constantly respond there is more to it than that. You fear us. Prove me wrong AND DON'T RESPOND.
--signed lunatic fringe rebel
By the way....
If secession is not rebellion how can you be a rebel?
Good, I agree. You can learn. Surprising for a jarhead....
