A former New York state inmate alleges he was permanently injured when a prison nurse failed to treat a 55-hour erection caused by an anti-psychotic drug.
In a federal court suit, Dawud Yaduallah, formerly known as David Hanley, said the damage has caused problems in his marriage and he needs a prosthesis to "possibly restore some sexual function, The New York Post reported Monday.
Yaduallah said nurse Judith Lovelace's alleged "cruel and uncivilized conduct" occurred in March 2006 at the prison in Fishkill when his dosage of Seroquel was increased by 25 percent. Side effects of Seroquel, an anti-psychotic, include painful erections, the Post reported.
Yaduallah, 43, alleges Lovelace did nothing but tell him to put ice on his penis and then sent him back to his cell. Yaduallah, who was serving time for assault, said he was erect and in severe pain for 55 hours before finally getting hospital treatment to relieve his problem.
Lovelace, who retired in 2007, was not available for comment, the Post reported.

As a guy, I realize that beyond a certain point, this wouldn’t be all that funny. On the other hand, I bet she wouldn’t have been all that gentle putting in the drain needle, either.

It used to be that you could pour ice-cold water down a guy’s pants and that would dampen his ardor. Guess not...

No, you wouldn't. There is a reason Viagra and Cialis have the 4 hour warning on their products. Erections lasting that long or longer can cause permanent damage that makes having sex impossible or very difficult. This guy has a good case and if they left him without treatment for this condition for 55 hours they should expect to have their butts sued off. Since he wasn't taking a drug for erectile dysfunction the people to blame are the ones who prescribed this medication and then failed to treat the side effects. Awww, come on, we all know that all lawsuits are frivolous and since he is a prisoner he has no right to reasonable medical treatment. (do i need a tag?)

If a recall correctly, it was just about any of them as long as they were either wearing something revealing or clung real nice to them.

You are supposed to get professional help. I suppose that would be more fun in Nevada, but the aid of a professional nonetheless.
