A mass extinction some 260 million years ago may have been caused by volcanic eruptions in what is now China, new research suggests.

Comet was K-T extinction, end of the Dinosaurs, some think Vulcanism about the same time in India is now thought to have at least help out.
This one is the P-T extinction end of the mammal like reptiles, giving rise to the dinosaurs.
