CNN reporting a body found near a blue barrel, near Chicago River. (20 minutes away from Drew Petersons house.

It’s been what? 2 or more years since she went missing? Wouldn’t it be just a skeleton, or disarticulated bones or something, instead of a ‘body’ found?

Well, if the body has been sealed in that barrel for most of the last two years, it wouldn’t be in good shape, but it would be mostly intact. The barrel was found about a mile downstream...I *think* that was what they said.

I always found that story very odd. Peterson was a LEO. It seems he would be smart enough to know the biggest mistake is to involve anyone else. Why would he need a barrel? He’s a big guy, he could have carried her out to his car in a sheet, blanket, whatever. I guess it’s possible he didn’t want a repeat of a body floating ashore like in the Scott Peterson case, but still, it just doesn’t really add up.
Neither does the death of his first wife. If he murdered her and wanted it to look like a drowning, surely he isn’t stupid enough to put her in an empty bathtub. Bathtubs can drain themselves over a period of hours or even less is there is a gap in the plug at the bottom of the tub. I think it did have water in it and it drained out.
Pretty hard to think of something besides a body at this point.

Peterson is a typical chicago cop. He is not smart. Not at all, watch him, listen to him. Peterson is a bully and nothing else. Anyone with any “smart” wouldnt act like he does in public. His behaviour is not wit, it is density.
Well said. If he was “smart” he certainly would have laid low after the spotlight found its way to him. He is a classic bully who hates women. Hey, wonder if he’ll be charged with a hate crime?
I flipped on CNN, and they had their ‘breaking news’ and ‘exclusive’ tags on the screen. Iscrolled down the first page of the FR news page and didn’t see anything about it, so I posted. Yours must have rolled to the second page by then.

Didn’t see the part about the body *in* the barrel, the snippet above says “near”—either way, I hope for her family’s sake it IS her, and that he left all kinds of evidence condemning himself there so they can lock him up forever!
