What are they supposed to do for excitement when tourist season hasn’t yet arrived?

You can get fired for whizzing into a geyser?
Good to know.

That’s a good way to win a Darwin Award. Even if the geyser is not erupting, the ground around such thermal formations are not that sound. Step in the wrong spot and fall into scalding hot water.

It is a delicate ecosystem.
Mind you a Moose or an Elk could whiz in it all day long and that would be considered natural.

Exactly, which is amazing when you go there and watch the buffalo walk all around them, including Old Faithful. I don’t see how these guys could’ve done this, there’s people there all the time.
To: decimon
the real insult here is that our “dear leader” did not collect a urination, defecation, dehydration, soda, tobacco, liquor, ding-dong, doughnut, oxygen tax from their behavior. their bodily filtration system, without paying their due carbon tax, is an insult to all those who stand in gubmint lines to collect what is due them. i ‘jus be ‘wantin my pie!!!
To: decimon
It would take a lot more than that to do any damage!

It’s a little known fact that Old Faithful only erupts when toilets are flushed at the Old Faithful Inn. The plumbing was broken down that day, and the employees were just doing their best to keep up the flow.

Actually, when I was there, there were signs all around every geyser and hot spring saying that even the smallest pollutant could wreck the geyser over time (although I think they were talking about solid pollutants). Whether that is true or not, how do you get millions of tourists to obey these signs if your own employees won't?

Years ago, 3 employees took a large valve out & placed it near (not on!) Old Faithful. When they felt the rumblings a bit, they turned the crank. Then a bit more, and finally one shouted, “All the way!”. They spun the valve and Old Faithful went shooting up.
They were fired, too.
