CLEVELAND (AP) The sister of an Ohio soldier killed in Iraq was ticketed for speeding and missed a ceremony awarding him a posthumous Bronze Star and Purple Heart.
The ticket was issued by a state trooper to 25-yearold Rebecca Davis of Cuyahoga Heights along Interstate 77 on Thursday despite her request for a warning and to call and confirm her situation.
The ticket was withdrawn about three hours later when a State Highway Patrol lieutenant went to the funeral home and apologized. A relative of Davis, who is a police officer, had called to complain about the ticket.
She was ticketed heading to an award ceremony for 21-year-old Spc. Brad Davis of Garfield Heights, who was killed last week in a roadside bomb explosion in Iraq. Burial was planned for Friday
“So if you are sitting in your car, and an officer says You either sign this ticket, or I place you under arrest and tow your vehicle, then you are saying the person signed it knowingly, willingly, and voluntarily?
There was no duress involved?”
Something similar happened to me. The cop made me get out of the car and put my keys on the hood. Then she took them and told me to sign the ticket or I could not have my keys back. So, I signed it and put (under duress). On the court date, the judge SCREAMED at me for doing that.
Projecting again I see.
No, you don’t.
Mojave, you are unable to comprehend your own hatred for anyone who says or thinks an unkind word about abusive rogue cops, of which there increasing numbers all across America, your view is truly myopic in that regard.
Your kneejerk reaction to the justifiable criticisms of cops in this thread proves that.
Those posters may not like cops, that is their right that you do not have a ‘cancel’ option on. Some may even hate cops, that too is their right. I’ve stated that I do NOT hate cops, what I hate are jackbooted rogue thugs who carry guns and badges and bring shame to honorable cops who serve with integrity.
Your responses demonstrate that you are incapable of seeing all the issues regarding police misconduct which DOES occur.
If you should hear from our dearly departed zotted troll, tell her “no hard feelings”.
Liar.
I recall when Lebron James was caught by the State Highway Patrol on radar doing 101 in a 65 mph zone on I-71 at 2:30 in the morning of his birthday a year or two ago. He tried to get off, with an expensive lawyer and pleading not guilty. The trooper had him on video. He ended up paying a fine of 259 dollars and court costs. Stateys don't fart around.
It's called the jacking-your-jaws-on- the-gawddam-cell-phone-when-you're-supposed-to-be-driving syndrome. Afflicts women especially
Try it with Michigan plates.
Not any more than Wisconsin cops hassle Illinois drivers, or Illinois cops hassle Indiana drivers. If you drove somewhere else other than the bingo hall maybe you’d notice.
You surely can't mean that......?? Can you?
I don’t HATE the police, I just don’t trust ANY of them.
They ALWAYS protect their own at the expense of the rest of us.
Please take me off your ping list.
Talk about attitude, yours sounds like a convicts. Might explain the dislike for cops.
Done.
