QUARTZ HILL, Calif. (AP) -- Don't mess with the marching band.
That's what California authorities are saying after a 17-year-old girl used her marching band baton to beat back two would-be muggers.
...one got a punch in the nose and the other a kick to the groin.
..."The moral to this story is don't mess with the marching band girls, or you just might get what you deserve. Final score: marching band 2, thugs 0."

Things have changed since I last marched.
**Final score: marching band 2, thugs 0.”**
And the school managed to keep it’s designation as a GUN FREE ZONE???
Give that young lady a MEDAL!!!
"Citizens should arm themselves."? No? He said something different?
Gives new meaning to the phrase “This one time, at band camp...”
Had she gone to 4-4 time instead of 3-4, they’d be dead.
LOL! I was a ‘bandster’ for 7 years. I twirled during that time...and can tell you those batons are deadly! LOL! Especially if the twirler is quite coordinated.
YES! I tell my kids all the time that no matter how big a creep is, EVERYone can be hurt if hit in the right places.
You GO, girl!
Hey, if marching band were easy it would be called football; and if color guard were easy it would be called “drill team”.
The muggers are just lucky she didn’t use her saber on them.
Woo hoo! Band nerds rule! You go, girl!
“Girl beats back muggers with marching band baton”
As headlines go, this is all well and good.
