That explains why all those anti-Bush mediaistas were Force-choked to death, and why Bush threw Cheny down a reactor shaft.

George, shut up, go back into retirement, and stop raping my childhood with your adolescent whining thinly disguised as a prequel series.

Yea, well the Jedis where a bunch of racist, sexist monks who didn’t believe in marriage or even love and denied the individual over their little collective.

You said — Former Vice President Dick Cheney is Emperor Palpatine, and former President George W. Bush is Darth Vader.

Well, considering that Star Wars was out back in May of 1977... this sounds like someone trying to “re-write” history, more than anything else.

Back in 1977, when I saw the first one (and the subsequent ones after that), we didn’t have Cheney as Vice President or George W. Bush as President...

Someone is either pulling your leg or trying to “re-write” history to make it seem that way.... LOL...

Dear George Lucas:

In my opinion, you have been running on vapors ever since the word "midiclorian" first appeared.

We have entered an era that is more approximated by the Harry Potter films, with our current president obviously represented by Cornelius Fudge, head of the Ministry of Magic, who persecutes anyone who complains that there really is elemental evil in the world and it is going to try and destroy us, and blindly looks the other way while the real Evil insinuates itself into every level of government. Obviously, Hillary is really Delores Umbridge, intent on seeing to it that we are protected against those dangerous rebellious attitudes (see the Bill of Rights for more background, George) that would make us troublesome students.

Wake up and smell the slain Padwans, George...YOU are Darth Vader.

Isn’t it amazing how GWB can be both a brilliant evil mastermind and a complete incompetant doofus at exactly the same time in the mind of a Liberal?

And George Lucas is as relevant as comic book character Jeanene Garafolo.

George is being disingenuous.

Star Wars (which introduced the world to Darth Vader) came out in 1977.
The Empire Strikes Back (which introduced the world to Emperor Palpatine) came out in 1981.
The Phantom Menace (which started the current "two faced enemy" fad in Star Wars) came out in 1999.

Lucas may have ended the last trilogy with direct allusions and jabs at the Bush Presidency, but that's not how (or why) he invented the characters. That's not to say George wasn't putting political messages in his films. Consider that the head of the evil capitalist Trade Federation is Nute Gunray, a cheap pun on the names of Newt Gringrich and Ronald Reagan. And Lucas didn't even try to disguise the name of the Neimodian Senator from Episode 1, Lott Dodd, named after Senators Trent Lott (R-Mississippi) and Christopher Dodd (D-Connecticut).

Lucas fried his brain long ago. He couldn’t make a good movie now, to save his life. Hell, he can’t even think clearly any more, without being told what he thinks, and what he feels. A one hit series wonder, who has been on the downolater ever since. How many more times can your owners repackage your tired series anymore, and actually make enough profit to keep propping you up, Lucas?

Utter nonsense... as has been previously pointed out with regards to the timeline.

If one can believe Lucas at all, his earlier statements that Vader and the Empire were modeled after Nixon and the Vietnam-era US industrial military complex.

The development of Anakin into Vader, especially when adding in the Clone Wars filler series (material that really should have been covered in the movies, but is still considered "canon"), is pattered after Vietnam vets' PTSD.

There was a line that Anakin Skywalker said “You are either with me, or against me” and it raised many eyebrows that obviously drew comparisons of evil Anakin and evil Bush.

Obviously, terrorists are the same thing as Jedis. *rolling eyes*

This touches on why the Elitist left hates George W Bush. Bush was raised to be one of them, yet he turned his back on them and “joined the other side”. Think of where he comes from: a connected and influential New England and Episcopalian family. He was sent to Andover, then Yale (where he was admitted to Skull & Bones), then Harvard. After that he did a stint in the national guard and was hooked up in the family business. That is the testbook career path of a northern elite class.

Then George W Bush did something unthinkable in Texas- something that none of his peers could even think to tolerate. George W Bush became a born again Christian. Born again Christian? To the people he grew up with, that was the mentality of the racist rednecks who wave John 3:16 signs at NASCAR events. To the elitists, the young GWB had rejected them and embraced the other side. He became part of the very culture that makes Boston brahmans throw up. Bush had joined a backwards and unsophisticated culture of tea totallers, big tent revivals, snake handlers, and door to door evangelists. In the minds of leftist elitists, George W Bush had joined the Dark Side.
