47 Year old Susan Boyle wows the judges with her performance in the auditions for Britains Got Talent, singing I dreamed a dream from Les Miserables.

Well, we all heard and cheered for the fellow from Parliment who so eloquently told off the Prime Minister. Now enjoy this. Britian's version of our American Idol...but with a real talent winner. This will make you clap for the lady with a huge voice and maybe even get tears in your eyes for her courage. Nice to have something to smile about once in a while.

Watching her audition is my new favorite thing. I’ve watched it 10 times, and cried 10 times.

Totally inspiring.

i keep watching it and crying too. i just love that look on simon’s face when he is cupping his face in his hands and just sighs and smiles. reminds me of the dopey, lovesick expression of a teenage girl seeing her fave singer in those pictures from the 1950’s and 1960’s. and wow can that lady sing. if one person on american idol had a tenth of that talent maybe the show would not suck.

You are so right. I cried too, and got chills. Watching this is so much better than spending any time watching today’s news. This is Uplifting for a change! I hope something comes of this for her. I sure bet she has a lot of fans now.

Have you EVER been so happy for someone in your life?

She was oxygen deprived at birth and bullied relentlessly for her learning difficulties and says she now has the last laugh...LOL.

I have read that she is in talks with Simon and Sony/BMG. She deserves it. If marketers would get out of the music business and let the real talent through I may actually buy a CD again.

ROFL.

I know exactly the look you mentioned, it’s at 4:01 on the video. I’m hopeful he was thinking that he can finally stop judging looks and body and get down to producing serious talent. Although with a voice like Susan’s he’ll need a producer of only minimal skill.

Score another one for the underdog :)

i told my hubby you could see the audience and the judges thinking “an old fat ugly lady cannot possibly have talent. only young pretty people can have that” guess she showed them all. i totally adore this woman.

I so enjoyed this video, especially as it shows so clearly the fickle nature of jaded viewers who were sneering just before Susan Boyle started to sing and then cheering moments later. Also good were the videos of Paul Potts and Andrew Johnston.

Also, I felt bad that Andrew Johnston lost to a street dancer kid.

I watched it earlier today and shed a few tears as well. What a wonderful story - I hope she achieves the career she so richly deserves. Simon’s expression is priceless.

Not the Brit version of Idol. The Brit version of America’s got Talent.

I read the comments under all the different videos of Susan. Around the world people are cheering for her. Read them if you have a chance and get more goose bumps! A voice like this comes once in a lifetime. So nice that this voice is been given to her. Being oxygen deprived at birth, she hardly had a chance for greatness. But she did it. Go Susan.

Absolutely an amazing performance by a very talented and courageous Lady. Very touching as well, reminding us all once again to not judge a book by it’s cover.

Wonderful! I had tears in my eyes. People looked at so cynically and mocked her at the beginning, and look what she did! I always root for the underdog, as I’m usually an underdog myself.
