I was sitting in the movie theatre eating popcorn and Milk Duds while watching the previews of upcoming attractions when my wife asked how I could combine two seemingly opposite food items. I told her that Milk Duds, when eaten simultaneously with popcorn, are very tasty. Dont knock it until youve tried it.
While waiting for the feature presentation I began to think of other strange food combinations that I have eaten through the years. Since childhood, I have dipped my potato chips into applesauce. Like Milk Duds and popcorn, the combination of the salt in the chips and sugar in the applesauce play well off of each other. I have always put ketchup on butter beans and now my children have now acquired a taste for their fathers strange legume-meets-tomato-condiment pairing.
I began to wonder what other people might eat in the way of strange food pairings, so I logged on to my Facebook page and posed the question: What are the strange food combinations that you like to eat?

Bacon drippings on white bread. Yummy
Geez, that looks like some sort of terminal STD.
Sounds bad....but you got to try it!!
yep - love those too - but haven’t ever fried ‘em. I like Elvis too.
See post 83.
Gross, but there is grosser on this thread. LOL Your husband's tuna and jelly made me want to dry heave.
I used to eat peanut butter, mayo, and bannana sandwiches.
When I was a kid my mom would give me sandwiches made of crushed peanuts, cream cheese and green olives - put on white bread. They were impossible to trade with other kids at school...
I have two personal favorites!!
My mother introduced me to peanut butter and syrup sandwiches.
The other is my father’s fault...barbecue chips and chocolate ice cream. I’m in college and people evacuate my room when I even mention I’m going to eat it. It’s a good way to get some studying done!
I actually didn’t think of the most amazing thing I’ve ever tried in my life. Vanilla Infused Foie Gras. Basically, a fattened duck liver cooked with apples and vanilla and a vanilla bean in it. OMG that was so, so amazing.
We had this at the Mansion on Turtle Creek in Dallas. I’m looking for a photo now (I regret not taking a picture of it.)

MMmmmm ... Fritos and anything!
My mother used to eat cream cheese and green olive sandwiches. She also put sliced green olives in her egg salad.
I didn't see your post before I added the same concoction. I thought I was a loner on that one, LOL!
While sippin’ on a cold Corona with Magarita mix or a semi-cold Heineken and you can’t beat it!
I can't eat regular bread anymore (can't digest wheat), and of all the things I miss, that's at the top of the list.
So the next time you have one, have a second for me :D
I can’t imagine that it tastes bad. I bet it’s good too. :-)
Cute!
