Beverley Burkitt, 45, had to sleep in deep forest after losing her way on a morning walk.

The 3ft 8in mum snuggled up to 7in-tall pet Pebbles — who kept her warm and saved her from hypothermia.

She was found the next morning after a huge search involving Snowdonia ground teams and helicopters.

I think the mountain dwarfs were driven nearly to extinction with the arrival of the garden gnome to America. That’s the problem with invasive species.

Why do I get the feeling it is the woman who saved the Chihuahua's life, and not the other way around? How much heat could a 7 in. dog give off -- especially one so skinny!

I laughed. At a story about a hero dog and a woman who triumphed over adversity.

I am obviously going to hell.

Now I can’t get that Peer Gynt troll king music out of my head.

Echoes of that barking-mad chihuahua Ren, sired by Peter Lorre.

It's a great song. It's also the most metal piece of music before metal was invented.
