Both girls want modest, but up-to-date clothes.

That's the hard part. Some of the stuff out is just so inappropriate.

“I see AI wanting Adam, the flaming fag, up against Danny, the Christian nice guy. Makes Adam being named Americas Idol just that more delicious.”

I think the Idol producers don’t want two rockers in the final (Adam/Allison) and it will be what it was predicted to be from the beginning, Adam and Danny.

I agree. I really worried about both girls, but they have good heads on their shoulders. I see so much of what passes for ‘fashion’ at school. So far - no tattoos - they don’t even have their ears pierced!

Being short means that nothing fits right-even the petite stuff so I have a hard time finding well fitting things which is so frustrating

Being tall, it's the same thing. Capri's become Bermudas. I rarely attempt dresses (I go for skirts) because the waist is always 2-3 inches higher then where it is supposed to be.

OT-you a Kings of Leon fan? I noticed the tagline...

Yes! I love them! I wish we had more tagline space, so I could get the whole verse in. For some reason it reminds me of this thread.

And we'd be so free
Happy alone
Sharing a smile
So far from home
And we would laugh
Laugh till we cry
Making a song
Making me lie
Happy alone

I think the people who sit around me at work are happy when I work from home so they don't have to hear the Kings of Leon playlist all day, every day. LOL Or they think, "Well, at least she's off The White Stripes kick."

It’s not just the “costumes.” It’s the lighting, the stage production, or how about starting and ending the show last night? Major pimpage by Idol producers, IMO. I see an agenda, getting the first flaming homosexual Idol. I keep reading other people who say he is better than the singers he imitates. If he is so good, how has he been overlooked by the recording industry for so long? Seems to be more of a creation by Simon and Idol producers.

Mrs. FD wears a size 2 shoe — that’s right, size 2.

I hear tell she would be prized in Japan.

He’s a little too um...”fancy” for this song,...But it didn’t do it for me.

I so agree with this! Adam is way too theatrical, while faking emotion. Trying to act like a "mean" rocker doesn't make you one. Totally unauthentic!

And another thing, the song is "Whole Lotta LOVE" it's not meant to be a "mean rocker" song. It's a bluesy rock LOVE song! It's a deeply committed, sexually driven, with sensual emotional connections kind of song. Adam didn't even get it!

Adam totally has no real feel for the rock songs he does. They're all theatrical B.S.!

Get the gift card, but then you be the one to take her shopping. Make it a fun outing and then you can be the one to help her pick out what she likes without going over the top. If you don’t take her, mom will and then she will get the little girl stuff. Plus, your niece will love the time spent with you. :)

text votes and Hawaii candidates are the holes in the AI voting system. Remember how that Asian girl hung around a few seasons back Jasmine Trias?

She had full access to the phones later in the evening when no one else was calling, maybe Allie will get some extra Asian votes from the islands

” Speaking of which, I’ve noted a number of folks who complain about Adam “screaming” some vocals. Likely the same folks who complained about Chris Daughtry doing the same thing. Would have complained about Robert Plant doing it. Or Roger Daltrey. Or Jeff Buckley. Or Steven Tyler. Speaking of Steven Tyler, compare Adam’s “screaming” to what Danny did last night. Now I have liked Danny from the beginning and have thought all along that it would be Danny and Adam in the finale. But Danny completely blew that song last night with his trying to imitate Steven Tyler and missing it by a mile (he should have done Stevie Ray Vaughn). Now go listen to Adam side-by-side with Robert Plant on Whole Lotta Love. There is a reason why nobody covers Zeppelin songs. Plant had a very high voice and the songs are very hard to sing. Adam absolutely nailed a very tough iconic rock song. He may look weird and sing differently than the mainstream, but that’s what makes him so great IMHO. “

You must have been listening to the conversation between me and my wife. I kept telling her, there are very few established artists who would attempt that song, and here he is after being put in the bottom 3 willing to “ swing for the fences” on a very tough song choice.

The pace/pitch of this Zep tune is daunting, and he handled it with ease

Size 2! Wow-bet she has trouble finding shoes. I’m very short but I have huge feet...they got bigger with each baby I had...thank goodness I stopped at two!

We have to go to Mexico to get shoes for her (at least with heels).

LOL — I don’t think they make glass slippers that small — everything in the US starts at size 5 :)

Were you the one who, on another thread, said you go to the Goodwill and Salvation Army stores in nice neighborhoods and get great bargains? That made me want to go to the Salvation Army store they just opened a couple towns over.

I am already put off by the way she waves royally at her imagined adoring fans when she is introduced.

LOL!! I've noticed that too.

OT, but your post reminded me. Do you happen to know which church the Obama’s have chosen to attend? I’m guessing the Reverend Wright didn’t move to DC.

Since this is normally the "surprise" week, I'll go with Danny.

That's very possible.
