Carrie Fisher as Princess Leah
At 52 years, here is Carrie Fisher, looking like Mike Myers.
There's a 1 in 7 chance of inheriting it. The good news in that is that it means it's not an autosomal recessive ~ 'cause then you'd have a 3 in 4 chance!
Bump!
Check your sources. That's not Carrie Fisher. That's my plumber, Stan.
Ooo,she looks so MILFy in that picture.
This tends to be more an American phenomenon, rather than a celebrity issue, this worship/fascination/obsession with every facet of their life, right down to where their cellulite is. I find it rather creepy myself.
It is not only an American phenom, but this kind of stuff happens everywhere around the world. More than anything this is a celebrity issue. Once the adulation fades away, celebrities are known to call papparazzis and let them know where and when a celebrity will be so they can take pictures of them. I remember reading about Keith Urban —that the only thing that mattered to him before was the crowd adulating him when he was performing in a big arena. That this gave him so much high. The adulation faded, and depression came to him. He turned to alcohol and heroin. He is now free of that addiction. Believe me, this is 95% celebrity issue. One of friends work for a celebrity and he does tell a lot.
You won’t find many threads AT ALL about MEN who look horrid. (Nor whether they’re “hot” and “not guilty”.)
She's had something done to her face but it wasn't an improvement.
Aging is aging....but it was her coarseness that was so unattractive.
As sweet as the hero (in all respects) he plays in the iconic series.
I have a close relative with the disorder and I'll bet you've never been as near to it as I am. So get the chip off your shoulder, close the blinds, assume the lotus position and relax. This is a forum, not a lecture room.

I was defending the poor woman's bloating up. I've known numerous folks with bipolar disorder over the years ~ know some now in fact. I can't remember how many times they've ended up bloated because they used some new medication, or something went wrong, or their metabolism changed.
Folks who have bipolar disorder have it irrespective of what they do with their lives otherwise. Too many of them self-medicate though. We had a guy worked with us who was a genius but his self-medication looked a lot like binge drinking and that was his downfall in the workplace. I think the boss could have handled his bipolar problem alone, but not the disappearance for a week at a whack.
All the above are clearly classic symptoms of untreated bipolar disorder. Treatment years ago, had their been an effective one would have saved or changed all of this.

I just kept thinking about Austin Powers, “She’s a Man, baby!!!!”
She was also in “Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back”. Played a nun.
There are people out there who've had some lifelong problems with bipolar types in their lives ~ I'm usually as "kind" to them as I am to those with "bipolar" disorder ~ and simply IGNORE their signature complaint (which is that the bipolar folks in their life have been willful, hateful, conniving, selfish, etc.).
It's kind of like the folks who hate all foster care because they had a bad experience. They actually can't be argued with on the matter since it has crowded out so much of their lives.
