This tends to be more an American phenomenon, rather than a celebrity issue, this worship/fascination/obsession with every facet of their life, right down to where their cellulite is. I find it rather creepy myself.

It is not only an American phenom, but this kind of stuff happens everywhere around the world. More than anything this is a celebrity issue. Once the adulation fades away, celebrities are known to call papparazzis and let them know where and when a celebrity will be so they can take pictures of them. I remember reading about Keith Urban —that the only thing that mattered to him before was the crowd adulating him when he was performing in a big arena. That this gave him so much high. The adulation faded, and depression came to him. He turned to alcohol and heroin. He is now free of that addiction. Believe me, this is 95% celebrity issue. One of friends work for a celebrity and he does tell a lot.
