'System will bring down Obama' - Check out the short video

In a long monologue on “Hardball” decrying the Senate’s 60-vote requirement for passing legislation, Chris Matthews predicted legislation on energy, healthcare and education would fail to pass Congress this year – and offered a dire prognosis for the Obama administration.

“My bet in the end is the system will bring down Obama,” Matthews said. “Not the Republicans – the system.”

Oh Chrissy, who has been whispering in your ears? What exactly are you trying to tell US? Is your 401k suffering yet, or are your kids having a tough time taking on a life time of debt?

What part of Bama is NOT 'their system'. Although I do agree with him it sure is not going to be the 'publicans' that will stop or bring down Bama.

The Obammunist has let it be known that the Senate is ready to use the nuclear option to foil cloture (60 votes to cut off debate/filituster). ie. Hussein/Reid only need 51 votes to promote socialism, destruction of capitalist free enterprise in America. yitbos

Can you dumb that down and say that again?

Chris Matthews and Keith Olberman, as well as other big buffoons at MSNBC, should be fired. The sickening pro Obama bias is too much to take.

Not the system, Sissy Matthews. His policies and terrible leadership will bring him down.

Ooh you are so right, but I wouldn’t know really, I have seen Matthews a very few times, but that other guy Olberman, I have thankfully managed to avoid.

Chrissy isn’t happy about it. He’s mad because it takes 60 votes, that’s the system. He wants a fifty vote system. He’s asking the Senate to change the system.

Yeah that pesky old Constitution really bites doesn’t it Matthews. What a shame we live in a free nation where the people have rights and someone like Obama can not just do anything and everything he wants.....

Doesn;t matter what brings him down, so long as something does. And yes, I AM hoping he fails.

"Can you dumb that down and say that again? "

Democrats are famous for filibustering legislation they dislike. It takes 60 votes in the Senate to end debate/filibuster (talk a bill to death). Them's the rules. They didn't need majorities in Congress, only more than 40 in the Senate.

When Republicans gained a majority in the Senate in 1995, Democrats didn't even need to filibuster or vote. They just let it be known they had at least 41 votes in the Senate to kill any bill they didn't like.

However, there is also a rule in the Senate that rules can be changed with a simple majority.

Republicans have threatened to change the filibuster rules, but the rule is so old and so traditional, the negative Democrat PR caused Republicans to back off

That threat of Senate rules changes has been reintroduced by the Hussein/Reid cabal.

I fully believe that Obama is making a mad march like Napoleon and will end up on his own little Elba. He is going to be a one-word epithet for a "never again" moment in American history.

I hope Obama fails. He’s like a kid with a new ‘no limit’ credit card. I am not supporting the bankrupting of America and saddling our children and grandchildren with a dubious financial future. He will propel us into a world rampant with terrorism... I just can’t support that agenda. I hope that Obama fails, and fails MISERABLY.
