My Radio Was Gone
(To the tune of "My City Was Gone" a/k/a Rush Limbaugh's opening theme.)
I went back to the airwaves
But my radio was gone
There was no Rush Limbaugh
There was no more Sean
Somehow they'd disappeared
All my favorite voices
Talk Radio had been replaced
By bland Top 40 choices
Hey, "O": way to go, Obama
Well, I went back to the "AM"
But my shows were all gone
I scanned through the whole dial
But there was nobody home
I was stunned and depressed
My Glenn Beck memories
Slowly swirled away
Just like our liberties
I said: Hey, "O": way to go, Obama
I went back to the dial
But it didnt sound the same
It had been homogenized
By a government that had no shame
Our conservative views
Had all been censored or denied
And "Fairness" filled the air
From Portland to Oceanside
And I said: Hey, "O": way to go, Obama
Bambi doesn’t realize competitive AM radio nearly died in about 1980. Talk radio was its salvation.
Clever!
Down here in the hills, we had one talk radio station across the state line whose signal we could pick up. The massive ice storm in Ar. knocked out their tower and equipment. For 3 weeks we had a taste of what this Censorship doctrine would be like.
They got back on the air yesterday and we’re so glad!!

Slowly swirled away—
You’ll get over THAT quickly enough!
The way to stop this nonsense now is for the Republican leadership to make it very clear that if the Democrats or FCC try any of this crap, then when the Republicans come back into power, both the left wing television industry, *and* Hollywood, are going to be put under the fairness doctrine as well.
It is that serious.
If some blowhard leftists curses Republicans at the Oscars, then Ann Coulter will be waiting in the wings to give an equal time “responsible opposing viewpoint.”
If it is broadcast with a leftist political message, then the Republicans will make it the law that a conservative political message has to be included as well.
Oh, if it were true. Unfortunately, when back in power, the Trent Lotts in the Republican Party will offer the Democrats "airtime sharing"
Personally, I’m waiting for the opportunity to extend the rule to PBS and NPR, neither of which appears to have aired a conservative opinion for over 20 years, at least not without mockery and scorn.
Do you honestly think he cares? As long as it silences the dissent, those who dare to question the teflon president, so be it. Obama’s not even Clinton, he can’t withstand any criticism at all because he has never been questioned.
Worse than that, I’m afraid. After the Republicans having been neutered by unfair rules in congress for decades, Newt Gingrich immediately extended his hand to the Democrats with all sorts of reforms to make the House a more equitable place.
For her part, Pelosi has reversed all the Gingrich reforms, and even marginalized the Republicans more than they had been before.
The Republican leadership has to realize that you don’t, you can’t, fight fair with people who cheat at every opportunity. If you have a gun, and they don’t, don’t be like a dumbass in the movies and throw your gun away so you both can fist fight. Because if he can get your gun off the ground, he will shoot you down with it, without a second thought.
The Democrats are aware of this as well, because the instant Republicans get any power, they and the MSM are whining about “fairness” and “bipartisanship”, that the Republicans *have* to offer the Democrats.
And, like suckers, every...single...time the Republicans give it to them.
Well, there is consensus in what the pubs are doing, but when we go to the rnc or the states, the remedies fall on deaf ears.
I’m thinking conservative party
