Patrick Swayze cut a gaunt figure when he was spotted in public for the first time in weeks. The actor, who is fighting pancreatic cancer, looked gaunt and frail as he defiantly smoked a cigarette while waiting for wife Lisa Niemi in Beverly Hills.
Once famed for his athletic body and steamy routines in the 1987 hit movie Dirty Dancing, the actor now looks a shadow of his former self.
The 56-year-old smoked several cigarettes in under 10 minutes, according to onlookers, puffing big clouds of smoke out of the truck.'He was puffing away and appeared as if he didn't have a care in the world. It's so sad,' said one.
Reports from the US suggest that he has stopped treatment for the cancer, including chemotherapy, after experiencing extreme side-effects such as excruciating dental pain making it impossible to chew food.
The actor blows a plume of smoke out the window of his car, smoking several cigarettes in just 10 minutes
He is believed to have undergone dental surgery to repair his damaged gums and save his teeth.

Got a few posters here who would sign banning dihydrogen monoxide petitions ;)
Tell that to Roy Castle, and to my late grandfather, who didn’t smoke but was forced to inhale a load of second-hand smoke.
And on what basis do you feel that it is a myth? Crackpot theories and wishful thinking, or genuinely objective scientific research?
Memo to the Nations Busy Bodies:
MIND YOUR OWN @#$%^&*(*&^% BUSINESS.
Any part you did not understand? Good.
>>>Got a few posters here who would sign banning dihydrogen monoxide petitions ;)
Got that right.
Second-hand smoke does not cause cancer. Says the World Health Organization.
Dihydrogen monoxide kills hundreds of people every year, and I can imagine congress passing a law banning it. The Texas Legislature passed a resolution commending William Bonnie for his work in population control.
A major greenhouse gas. And since SCOTUS, in it's infinite wisdon, has declared carbon dioxide a pollutant when it is a weak greenhouse gas then dihydrogen monoxide must be the mother of all pollutants.
You are a perfect fool and a liar.
The second hand smoke theory has been disproved, even to the point of money being awarded tobacco companies(sorry I am not going to dig for hours in the archives just so I can show you a link, find it yourself, it is there, try about 1998)because of fake reports of second hand smoke.
Second hand smoke was brought out as a scare tactic because trying to scare smokers out of smoking wasn't working, so they decided to scare everyone else into believing smokers were harming the world.
Want a brief lesson in thinking? Ok, here you go: During the 1950s, and earlier, when it was discovered, and proved, that there was a correlation between smoking and cancer, everyone smoked. Now, according to the smoke nazis second hand smoke is actually deadlier than the first hand stuff. Now, stay with me here: If second hand smoke is so deadly, how did they ever prove cigs were causing cancer to start with? Everyone during the 30s,40s, 50s and a good part of the 60s, when they were running the tests and seeing the results, were exposed to second hand smoke.
I mean you couldn't go to a movie without coming out smelling like a cigarette. Everyone breathed it, in school, in church, at movies, in bars,on buses, street cars, trains. Therefore(stay with me)cancer rates should have been just as high in everyone, not just the smokers, their spouses, children and other non-smokers would have had cancer at the same rate therefore their tests would have proved nothing.
The fact that the tests did show that smoking did cause cancer in a smokers at a higher rate than non-smokers proves the second hand smoke crap is just that, crap.
Now, now; we all know nobody’s perfect, she’s just real good at what she does.
By golly, I'll want to use less aluminum, too.
That saves the baby seals from getting brained with aluminum bats.
youd better not light up
For sure. I don't want to get hauled off to a gulag after all.
Smoking is not a question of right or left or liberal or conservative. Smoking kills regardless of political convictions.
Smokers should not inflict their cancer causing habit on other people via second hand smoke, especially children, people with asthma, or already suppressed immune systems; that’s courtesy and common sense, not politics.
I always enjoy the part where their insanity becomes increasingly apparent, yet they’re oblivious to the reality that normal people have started to cross the street to avoid them.
No, I’m telling the truth. I can smell the cigarette smoking coming out of closed cars of smokers right next to me on the road. It’s that pungent that it even overwhelms gasoline fumes.
Smokers don’t even smell how bad they smell to others.
I HATE candle smoke WORSE than cigarette smoke!!!
Most people drive cars because they have to to get to work or school or grocery shopping. They have little choice in the matter. But smoking a cigarette is a choice, one that is not necessary to conducting life’s business, and it also subjects other people to the bad effects of second hand smoke. That is why there are so many laws against it now.
Sure, go ahead and kill yourself with your nasty, filthy cigarette habit, but don’t be so callous or angry or bitter or selfish that you expose others to your added risks.
It’s good to see him out and about. What a fighter. Go, Patrick!
The smoke nazis are hardly worthy mentioning; such small, pinched minds.....
I bet you have NO nasty habits, do you....you’re little Miss Perfect.....BBAAAAAWWWWAHHHHHHHHHH
Deanna, you have no idea what people think of your opinion, either.
And it’s just your opinion. There are a lot of people who will say, for money or the sake of a grant, that second hand smoke causes cancer. It should be very simple to find one study: ONE STUDY, where that is proven, a double blind longitudinal study.
I am quite certain you will not find one. But I’d love to see it, if you do.
BTW, what is the lethal amount of tobacco smoke, in the air. I mean the amount below which it’s safe to smell it. Every lethal gas has an amount where it is safe to inhale and causes no damage, so there ought to be such an amount for cigarette smoke. Can you please find that for me? Thanks.
And PS, I don’t want to discuss anything else except my questions, because of all the smoking discussions I’ve heard on this forum, THOSE are the two issues I’ve never heard smoke nazis (of which you are one) discuss.
