I saw the advert this morning and couldn’t believe it.
A reminder to everyone who accepts this free offer to tip the wait staff! Heard reports on the radio that the tips for this promotion have been lacking.
I always tip unless the service really sucks.
This was a commercial during the Super Bowl.

Denny’s free ‘Grand Slam’ breakfast offer appears to be hitting it out of the park.
The Dallas Morning News says 30 people were lined up at 6 a.m. at one Denny’s location in Big D to take advantage of the free breakfast of two eggs, two slices of bacon, two sausage links and two pancakes. The nationwide offer is good until 2 p.m. The newspaper quotes one customer, Francisco Flores, 53,, as saying he heard about it on the morning news and rushed over immediately. “I didn’t even shower,” says Flores.
The News quotes Nelson Marchioli, president and CEO of Dennys, as saying he expects at least 2 million more customers today. In this economy, people will respond to free, he says.

The newspaper says one group of high school students found the offer impossible to resist. “I got us lost,” said Chris Moore, driver of the group. “We drove around for half an hour looking for it.”
Friend and I went there, but the wait time was TOOOOO long even for a $3 breakfast. I think everyone in America must have truly eaten there this morning. Everyone but Lisa and me anyway.
This is for real folks.
Mrs. jimfree and I made the trip. It was perhaps a 40 minute wait at the Greenbelt, Maryland store. But we managed to find counter space almost immediately and were finished when our name was called.
I was the 2nd person to enter a Denny’s in west Houston, at 5:45 AM. 10 minutes later, the place was packed. And the place seemed horribly understaffed.
My wife and I went to a couple of Denny’s in the Denver Metro area around 9 this morning. (She is a writer for a restaurant trade publication). There was a 20-40 minute wait at both locations.
I drove by a Dennys today, must have been 100 people waiting. Dennys food just isn’t that good.
Ours was packed and a long wait, so we gave our ‘money’ to a competitor.
Why are there no Denny’s in the New York Market?/Just Asking - seoul62......
..and we did, within 30 minutes...
..The staff were hospitable & gracious...and kept carrying trays of pancake balls around while folks waited for a table.
The waitresses were quick, kindly and smiled....
..and the food was DELICIOUS!
I hadn't visited Dennys in years...(& it's only about 4 miles away)...
..I will go back now.
