AMERICA-The Right Way: Staying Vigilant!(Feb. 2- Feb 6, 2009)
Various news sources and FReepers | 2/1/09 | All of Us

Good evening everyone.

Statism continues to run amok in Washington.

The O administration is set to soon unveil a Big Bank Bank Bailout...more debt onto debt for as far as we can see.

But a ray of hope: there are hints that some Dems as well as the Rs in the Senate have qualms about the Depression & Huge Deficit Act of 2009 which passed the House last week.

So we shall see.

Meanwhile we can have a lottery: how many Executive Orders will the new president sign THIS week??

" the magazine plastered a pic of Jessica Simpson. Lauer mentioned this, and Nobama, trying to act faux put-off, said, 'Yeah, and she's fighting a weight problem, too, from the looks of it.' "

No, all he said was "Apparently she's in a weight battle", referring to the headline. He was just reading the caption of the JS picture.

Still a dumb move. Why say anything at all?

Why say anything at all?

Because he thinks he can and no one can (or dare) do anything about it.

I just bought a new piano; a Kawai "vertical grand"; looks like this:

My studio is too small for a grand, and we don't have the resources for one just yet anyay; so this is the next best thing. It's being delivered Friday.

I was going to sell or give away the old one; it has tuning issues etc. and after 33 years of teaching it has an assortment of "scrapes and bruises"; but daughterchild insists I cannot get rid of it, as it is the piano she grew up with; so it will reside in the living room where it will receive only occasional use and thus we will preserve whatever life it has left in it.:)

Hiya, prairie!

I don’t have a lot of spare time to spend here, but I may drop in now and again (now that I CAN! LOL!).

In the early 70s I would shake my head when I’d see an EU sticker on a German car bumper. My neighbors thought I was being critical...Since then, those same neighbors have told me the worst thing Germany did was sign on to the EU. When I lived there, there was little crime...now it’s abundant. The Brits didn’t sign on until late..now we see what is happening to those who’ve become EUers. Loss of patriotism, loss of borders and love of multiculturism will destroy a country and it’s culture and all it once stood for.

I love it. The tone is superb, and it looks gorgeous.

Now I have to start moving furniture etc. so they can get it in here. They will also move the old one into the LR for no charge.

Umph, what about me?

‘Afernoon’ all from the MS gulf coast, windy as all get out, the wind thru the pines will sooth your whole body, I mean it is really blowing too, shaking my ‘shack in the back’.

Paper work being finished on the adoption of C, anyone who deals with Human Services knows the strain they put you thru but slowly but surely (I pray). One cute little fellow, typical boy, gets into everything and chances the cats (hasn't caught one yet, they figured seeing him means trouble for them).

Just wanted to say ‘good afternoon’ so I shall get back to reading, am on a big reading kick too.
Toby

I’m fine. The x-ray showed no broken bones and only a bit of irritation still in the lungs. That is to be expected. As of now, no treatment necessary.

Someone up thread, I forget who, asked what the weather here is like. It is in the low 90s all the time, except when it is clouded over and then the temps drop. If it has been cloudy and rainy for 3 days or so, it gets cold. Cold=upper 70s. But at that point you see people in quilted jackets. I start drinking hot drinks at that point.

It is very humid here. We have upwards of 300 inches of rain a year so you can imagine the humidity. Since there is both a mountain and large lake nearby we often have a breeze. That helps.

It rained all day yesterday. No dry clothes. I need to find a clothes dryer. I’ll have to order one from Jakarta.
