AMERICA-The Right Way: Staying Vigilant!(Feb. 2- Feb 6, 2009)
Various news sources and FReepers | 2/1/09 | All of Us

Good evening everyone.

Statism continues to run amok in Washington.

The O administration is set to soon unveil a Big Bank Bank Bailout...more debt onto debt for as far as we can see.

But a ray of hope: there are hints that some Dems as well as the Rs in the Senate have qualms about the Depression & Huge Deficit Act of 2009 which passed the House last week.

So we shall see.

Meanwhile we can have a lottery: how many Executive Orders will the new president sign THIS week??

It's hard to believe that mom has been gone for 30 years, today. I feel her presence everyday.

Love you, mom!

Good Morning Everyone.

Our “January Thaw” is nothing but a memory. It was 17 degrees and snowing last night at 9 when I returned home from a meeting. I can still hear the wind blowing, YUCK!

Yuck!

It is raining here after a very pretty day.

I’m heading off to bed. Agatha Christy first and then dreams.

Good Morning!
(((lysie))) Bet you have wonderful memories...

IG - stay warm!!

I don’t have Sheila Jackson Lee here in Katy- she’s a few miles East, but every LITTLE event that comes along and her big ol’ face is plastered all over the TV screen. I have you all beat and she’s not even mine.

Good morning.

(((lysie))),our beloved parents are with us every day in so many ways and contexts. Sometimes my father is more in the background, and other times, his presence is stronger & more palpable. We pretty much have an ongoing conversation about life, our family, faith, politics, music, baseball....many, many grateful prayers for this ongoing relationship.

so will that Dem Gov honor the Gregg deal???.

Part of me wants to believe he will, but we've been burned far too many times.

Thanks Radix...this is a continuing worry: our retirement accounts, and the Feds getting thei r hands on them.

I just caught a few seconds of Beck's comments on responsibility and the way the libs vs. conservatives view this concept...It got me thinking...

Did anyone here Glenn Beck on this???

But conservatives promote, or should promote the idea of individual responsibility, including helping our families, and voluntary approaches to charity.

Libs define responsibility as collective toward the society as a whole, and want to force everyone into this framework.

Yes, I did. Glenn is a big personal responsiblity advocate. Take care of your own first, then others. It’s not at all selfish because if we take care of ourselves no one else has to.

Breakfast tacos this morning. Yum, we have them often.

Good morning all. I must call and see how mil is doing at the hospital this morning and then have a committee meeting over here at my house that I must get ready for.

I was going to put dinner together early and put it in the crock pot but I don’t want the house smelling of sauteed onions when the committee folks come over, so guess I will assemble it later and put it in the oven instead.

Lysie, Yesterday was the 4th year since my mom has been gone. I posted this elsewhere. Today I will post it in memory of your mom:

This memory of my mother stays with me
Throughout the years; the way she used to stand
Framed in the door when any of her band
Of children left . . . as long as she could see
Their forms, she gazed, as if she seemed to be
Trying to guard—to meet some far demand;
And then before she turned to tasks at hand,
She breathed a prayer inaudibly.

And now, I think, in some far heavenly place,
She watches still, and yet is not distressed,
But rather as one who, after life’s long race,
Has found contentment in a well-earned rest,
There, in a peaceful dreamlike reverie,
She waits, from earthly cares forever free.
