Fruit trees do take a lot of work and tending to. I am keeping my lemon and my navel orange. They bear a reasonable amount of fruit that comes ripe in late winter and they are not as messy at the grapefruit. I had grapefruit falling on the ground constantly, then the fruit rats would come. It was supposed to be a “dwarf”. That’s a laugh. The tree got huge and that one tree probably gave us 150 to 200 grapefruit each winter. What is anyone going to do with that much grapefruit? You can’t give the things away. LOL

When I found that little dog, that turquoise was all around him like that and the carpet was turquoise and I just couldn’t pass him by. So I just put that little frame around him to match. When I get to searching, I want everything I see.

He is a good looking man for sure. I would love to see him in concert, wouldn’t you?

I HAVE seen him in concert! Live, in concert, is where he absolutely blows you away! That's his forte for sure. :)

I can't remember the Bachelor's name - his pick was Mary something. I believe they are still engaged...

I guess I didn't see that season. I think I missed three or four of the seasons actually. Some that I watched were better than others. I remember most about the show that Andrew Firestone (heir to the beautiful vineyard in Napa) was on. Guess that match-up didn't work out either. He would have been quite a catch.

Yeah ... I think you are safe for a week or two. :^)

RE: you not posting the Holidays yesterday. I was tempted to not post them today. They didn’t look very interesting .... Pluto Discovered and Crab Stuffed Flounder Day. What can you do with those? Disney came to the rescue. I didn’t want to miss using that cute little girl again.

Marissa and I just finished homework ..... Next dinner.

Pluto (growing up) was so cute to me. But Goofy? I had nightmares about him as a child. I would think he was under my bed, and would grab my ankle, and pull me under the bed - so I would stand four feet from my bed, and JUMP - (think Gildna Radner, here) and DIVE onto my bed - every night! LOL! The things children think of!

LOL

How awful that must have been. It is funny now but I know it was not funny at the time.

Pluto was so cute and Goofy was so , well, goofy. :)

Celebrate Winter
Why are you cast down, O my soul? . . . Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance. —Psalm 42:5

I love living where there are four seasons. But even though I love settling down with a good book by a crackling fire when it’s snowing, I must admit that my love for the seasons grows a little dim when the long gray days of winter drone on into February.

Yet regardless of the weather, there is always something special about winter: Christmas! Thankfully, long after the decorations are down, the reality of Christmas still lifts my spirits no matter what’s happening.

If it weren’t for the reality of Christ’s birth, not only would winter be dark and dreary, but our hearts would be bleak and have nothing to hope for. No hope for the freedom from guilt and judgment. No hope of His reassuring and strengthening presence through dark and difficult times. No hope for a future secured in heaven.

In the winter of a troubled life, the psalmist asked, “Why are you cast down, O my soul?” The remedy was clear: “Hope in God, for I shall yet praise Him for the help of His countenance” (Ps. 42:5).

In C. S. Lewis’ tales of Narnia, Mr. Tumnus complains that in Narnia it is “always winter and never Christmas.” But for those of us who know the God who made the seasons, it is always Christmas in our hearts!

When our lives are heavy laden,
Cold and bleak as winter long,
Stir the embers in our hearts, Lord;
Make Your flame burn bright and strong. —Kieda

Let the reality of Christmas chase away the blahs of winter.

Oh, that is beautifully presented - haunting and sad - it reflects so perfectly the broken heart of Christina Rossetti’s poem.

Thanks, Billie. I know. It's a sad one, isn't it? It seemed to fit with the graphic, although I suppose the subject should have been an older woman. This worked better than anything else I found.
