Guess I wouldn't be a good candidate for a show like that. LOL.

LOL! Well, DUH!!

Never in a million, ga-zillion years would I put myself through something like that. Do you suppose they just want the publicity - to be shown on television in front of millions of people every week? Is it a fame thing? YUK! No thank you!

Great opening, today, Billie! Perfect picture and lyrics! (Love Barry Manilow!) Thank you!

Now, to you, Billie, Amy, Lori, and Meg - I want to take this opportunity to thank you for all you do - each and every day. What a team you all are, here! The diligence it must take to put such ‘eye-candy’ together every day - the graphics, poetry, music, links, ideas, tech help, replies and responses to all the pings, your patience, and just giving all of us a wonderful warm and fuzzy room to gather with our coffee each day.

I just have one question: Must we wait a full year to have another “Love Week”? ((((hugs))))

AWWWWWWWW, yorkie! What a sweet post! Thank you! That's the nicest thing to say - all of it.

("Love Week" was sorta special, wasn't it?) :)

It was indeed exciting to see. This is the second year the Amgen Tour/Race has been to Modesto, and officials are negotiating a return next year.

One of our sils was a volunteer for the race monitoring a corner here in the city. He’s been an avid bike rider entering some competions aroung these parts. Injuries have side-lined his bike riding for the time being.

Back to the race... after “the pack” passed by, all the team vehicles passed our location along with race officials and lots of CHP vehicles. I doubt this city has hosted so many CHP (California Highway Patrol) personnel since the funeral of a CHP offficer two years ago.

As I drove home along the race course route, the was a CHP vehicle at each intersection. Lots of traffic jams late yesterday. My trip home took twice the time and Mrsdd’s trip home from work was also effected by the congestion downtown (the finish line of the race).

I don't know what it is that would cause a woman to sign onto something like that, but I think you'd need to be an extrovert......which I am not. And I've noticed there is an underlying level of desperation on the bachelorette's part that is a little embarrassing and not at all attractive. It's just the way the show is set up, the women lined up at the rose ceremony like cattle at an auction. They are all, young, interesting, vibrant women but apparently have tried the normal route in finding their soul mate and have come up empty handed. Some of them are acting like this is their last chance at love. But I suppose it's not anywhere near as desperate as the mail order brides that came out west to marry their men sight unseen during the gold rush days.

I'm with you, Billie, I just would never, ever even consider putting put myself in that position.

The thing that worries me is Jason is a nice guy and they usually don’t fare very well in life.

He really does seem to be a very nice, sensitive guy. I hope this works out well for him and whoever he chooses in the end.

Oh how precious that graphic is...and I am listening to the music now. I like James Taylor a lot. There was one of those little silly quiz’s the other day that we get in email and it asked “What is your favorite flower?” My answer was yellow roses. Do most people like red roses best or does anyone know...LOL! Just another tidbit!

Thanks, Jaycee! I fell in love with that little girl. It's one of the most precious little kissy facees I think I've ever seen.

Of course I like yellow roses, too - the song 'n all (Yellow Rose of Texas) - but except for red roses being the best color for every room in my house, I do think I like pink ones best of all. :)

Jaycee, I think the reason that the 'love' doesn't last is because of a little thing called "Real Life". They are in an environment full of nothing but romance and moonlight and roses and glamour, and then they return home and have to keep their relationship secret even from their families for a while, because of course they tape the show for weeks or months before the first installment is aired. They can't even tell their families when the final taping is done, until WE have seen it on TV.

You are right. There is nothing "real-life" about anything they are experiencing on the show. The show makes it all seem so romantic and beautiful, real life is a whole different thing.

How many couples have stayed together? The only one I can think of is Trista and the fireman from Colorado, can't think of his name - Ryan? I think they just had their second baby. They seem very happy together.

Oh, Polly - you’ve had more than your share of sad news lately, and losing Hannah brings tears to my eyes now, too. I’m so sorry - at 13 years of age, I think we all know it could happen at any time, but still doesn’t take away the pain of losing her.

Sorta Humphry Bogart-like, 'cept Taylor's prettier, huh? :)

Not exactly my type, but.......he's grown on me a bit over the years. ;-)

How come is it, most all of these people become much more attractive after they have become successful? Money may not buy everything, but apparently it can help improve your image. LOL

I am so very sorry to hear you lost your precious poodle. I know how hard it is when we have to say goodbye to our wonderful furry companions. My heart goes out to you and all who loved Hannah.

...my jays, Precocious and Scrubita, are busily carting twigs around.

Cool. I think I have scrub jays nesting in the tree behind my place. Their nest is very twiggy also. I haven't seen scrub jays since I lived along the coast.
