A day that will live in infamy...

Obama's Inauguration

Superficially impressive until it really matters.

"You have to pinch yourself - a Marxist radical who all his life has been mentored by, sat at the feet of, worshiped with, befriended, endorsed the philosophy of, funded and been in turn funded, politically promoted and supported by a nexus comprising black power anti-white racists, Jew-haters, revolutionary Marxists, unrepentant former terrorists and Chicago mobsters, is on the verge of becoming President of the United States. And apparently it's considered impolite to say so."

Malanie Phillips is the author of "Londonistan" that I have urged everyone to read, please, please do. Her take doesn't surprise me and I would bet there are many others like her in England, in Europe, Indonesia and Kenya, Obama's native Land as well.

I have gotten a lot of static (not here) for pressing this same point of view with friends and aquaintances.

I believe most people who aren't as into politics as some simply dismiss ALL of that stuff as political chatter during an election, something that doesn't really matter, and that whoever gets into office SHOULD be there. It's a Pollyannaish kneejerk response, because what's the alternative? Admitting that we are in for a horrible time OR admitting you are uninformed about the guy who is now in charge of the most powerful military arsenal on the planet.

I don't think most supporters of Obama are Marxists; I think most supporters of Obama are Oprah fan-type people who just want to believe that everything will work out for the best, somehow/ For those people to accept that we live in a world where this guy rose to power would cause them to crumble.

I wish Obama all the “success” in the world. I place success in “. . . “ because I am making my own definition of success, not the Democrats’ or progressives’ and it is the same “success” I wished GW Bush.

The US will end.

We're drifting towards socialism. Economically even though we will recover the foundation for economic malaise long term is being set righ now and in the next few years. Those who so like to talk about our future and the children will ensure that our future is stagnant with no hope and no change.

Obama is a symbol of a society that has completely thrown away it's past, and with it also the moral fabric, interpretation of the Constitution, and culture of rugged individualism and freedom. The word freedom today is hollow and without meaning, having been supplanted with government entitlements and security.

The US will drift towards where Europe already is economically and culturally, and indeed many even openly proclaim what a great idea this is, advocating national run health care, retirements, and massive government subsidies as in Europe.

The problem with times like these is that unlike the 70s, this is a threshold we've past with Obama today. It's a point of no return where the Conservative values will be eradicated in public education and Hollywood. There won't be another Ronald Reagan, and like so many in Europe what you'll see is a Republican party that morphs into another socialist party that simply has a more aggressive footing on national security. Even there we see the foundation already having well been emplaced, with many voices in the conservative camp screaming to drift left in all social and economic matters.

The US will end because the very foundation of this nation is the Constitution and the values expressed in it, a free market which the founding fathers already advocated, individualism and freedom which all have gone out the window. The real problem I see is that the right in this nation like in Europe will also drift left, and this socialism will feed and self perpetuate. Great nations always fall from within, few realize or see their own demise, we have begun our fall and a million will be cheering on 20 January 2009 in Washington.

“Oprah fan-type people”

I agree. And for greed, envy, or, one of the other 7 deadly sins, they will be convinced, using the language of religion, to do and accept policies, laws and events that they would personally eschew when not under the spell of 0. If they find their personal lives, consciences or families in disarray as a result, this occurrence, too, will be handled by authorities. If so many of ‘the people’ resent and revolt at what wickedness this way comes, the national guard, Obama youth, and active duty military will be ordered to support federal law.

Whether the fight comes to one over ‘ideology’ or ‘small thinking’ of American sovereignty merely underscores our position in the world and the legion of united nations of the earth. Brother against brother or father against son or mother against child, we are the many who have sacrifices to make and purposes to not only ascribe to, but also to achieve.

The soul of America is in the fight of its life. God bless this country and each of those who love it.

I wrote the second paragraph above as my take on what Oprah people think. To read it from the conservative perspective yields a different result.

You have to go to Europe to find someone who understands Obama’s background.

I too hope the Kenyan fails miserably. But will his mind-controlled fuzzy-brained minions see his failure? No. I think they will Blame Bush. Now and forever.

Anyhow, he ain’t my president.

and I get laughed at for stating the obvious. Socialism/marxism never has worked. I am sure we will do a better job of it./sarc

Yes. Just like 12/7/1941 and 9/11/2001.
