The US will end.

We're drifting towards socialism. Economically even though we will recover the foundation for economic malaise long term is being set righ now and in the next few years. Those who so like to talk about our future and the children will ensure that our future is stagnant with no hope and no change.

Obama is a symbol of a society that has completely thrown away it's past, and with it also the moral fabric, interpretation of the Constitution, and culture of rugged individualism and freedom. The word freedom today is hollow and without meaning, having been supplanted with government entitlements and security.

The US will drift towards where Europe already is economically and culturally, and indeed many even openly proclaim what a great idea this is, advocating national run health care, retirements, and massive government subsidies as in Europe.

The problem with times like these is that unlike the 70s, this is a threshold we've past with Obama today. It's a point of no return where the Conservative values will be eradicated in public education and Hollywood. There won't be another Ronald Reagan, and like so many in Europe what you'll see is a Republican party that morphs into another socialist party that simply has a more aggressive footing on national security. Even there we see the foundation already having well been emplaced, with many voices in the conservative camp screaming to drift left in all social and economic matters.

The US will end because the very foundation of this nation is the Constitution and the values expressed in it, a free market which the founding fathers already advocated, individualism and freedom which all have gone out the window. The real problem I see is that the right in this nation like in Europe will also drift left, and this socialism will feed and self perpetuate. Great nations always fall from within, few realize or see their own demise, we have begun our fall and a million will be cheering on 20 January 2009 in Washington.

My prayer is that Texas secedes. Then we move to Texas. Simple. Everything is.

Alexander Tyler knew it was inevitable based on history. He said:

A democracy cannot exist as a permanent form of government. It can only exist until the voters discover that they can vote themselves money from the public treasure. From that moment on the majority always votes for the candidates promising the most money from the public treasury, with the result that a democracy always collapses over loose fiscal policy followed by a dictatorship.

The average age of the world's great civilizations has been two hundred years. These nations have progressed through the following sequence:

from bondage to spiritual faith
from spiritual faith to great courage
from courage to liberty
from liberty to abundance
from abundance to selfishness
from selfishness to complacency
from complacency to apathy
from apathy to dependency
from dependency back to bondage.

--Alexander Tyler

I'd say we're somewhere between apathy and dependency and headed straight for bondage. It's a sad day.
