LOS ANGELES -- Ricardo Montalban, the Mexican-born actor who became a star in splashy MGM musicals and later as the wish-fulfilling Mr. Roarke in TV's "Fantasy Island," died Wednesday morning at his home, a city councilman said. He was 88. Montalban's death was announced at a meeting of the city council by president Eric Garcetti, who represents the district where the actor lived. Garcetti did not give a cause of death.

Rest in peace Mr. Montalban. Prayers for you and your family. One of the CDs I own has the recording of him and Esther Williams singing “Baby, It’s Cold Outside.” Until I heard it, I never knew either one of them had sung in a film. I just looked up the movie online. It was “Neptune’s Daughter.” The song won an Academy Award.

I don’t understand the part about him being burried with the remains of Herve Villechaize.

R.I.P. One of the most memorable characters ever in a Star Trek movie.

Yep!
I went to an Estate Sale a year or so ago and came
across a promo flyer that was SIGNED by a number of
celebs.
One of the signatures was Montalban’s.
I sold that on eBay not too long after I put it in
my eBay Store, too!

If I still had it, I could have listed it today
and sold it for a heftier $ amount too I bet.
RIP, R.M. !!!

Yeah, he was a great one.
Though I always wanted a final shot of him seeing the NCC-1701-A Enterprise warping away from the pending Genesis explosion. I can imagine what his expression may have been, but I think they missed an opportunity there.

I’m sorry to hear this also and join in prayer for all the family and loved ones!

He was a true movie star with class, talent and style. He was really versatile. He sometimes played an Indian (really gorgeous Indian) in 50’s westerns or a latin lover. He was amused by the continuing fan mail he got for ‘Wrath of Khan’ decades after that role. He thought he had simply played the character over the top. That he was also a faithful husband for so many years adds to his luster. He will be missed.

He was a very good guy, Meek.
He was also one guy who got sexier as he got older.
I had such a crush on him...
Just shows that even as a young ‘un, I had good taste. ;o)
