Happy Wednesday to Amy’s Place!!!

I missed your report on W and Laura's homecoming; where is it?:)
Why, reposting here of course! LOL!

I did make it to the Welcome Home party for
the President and Laura.
Here are a few of the
pictures I took.


WEST TEXAS loves George and Laura!


Waiting for the President in beautiful clear weather
while being entertained by the Gatlin Brothers
Lee Greenwood and Rodney Atkins. WOOHOO!
They did it all for no fees...all voluntary!
Gov. Perry made a speech, too.


A nice TALL young man took this one for me because I
could see almost nothing! LOL!
I got glimpses, though, and I'll never forget
getting to see him in person...finally!


...and I DID get a few mementos of the occasion.

The president, as you probably saw on TV (Fox had some of it)
gave a sweet, nostalgic speech that brought tears
to my eyes.

Eastern NC, right on the coast. If you locate Hatteras on a map, we’re the next point that sticks out into the Atlantic, just above Wilmington. Morehead City.

It only snows here about once every ten years. Last big one we had was in 89. Christmas eve morning, it was about 85. The temp plummeted and it started snowing. It snowed for 3 days. The whole county was paralyzed for about 2 weeks. The really funny part is—no one else got any. Usually snow makes it to the county line and fizzles.

When MCC song “Passionate Kisses” came out, #2 son was about 3 or 4. He and my same age nephew walked around singing “Ashes and Kisses” for months. We never could convince them any different. LOL

You’re right—a little snow is fun. Had the day off and hubby and kids stayed home. We had a good day and a big dinner. Snow didn’t melt til late afternoon and roads are frozen again tonight. Probably go in late to work in the am. I can drive—somewhat—on snow. We live 10 miles out of town on a narrow, curvy old secondary road/deep ditches. Not worth it.
