“Corporatism/Fascism” is a type of oxy/moron. Fascism is where the private sector owns the businesses and the government controls the businesses. Much like where the US automakers are today.
Argle bargle? You got your stuff backwards.
Perhaps you're not familiar with the actual meaning of "illegal?" Illegal is illegal, and under a Republican form of government, of which we here in the US reside under, it is not tolerated.
It sounds to me like, in your own mind the word "fascism" is pretty much defined as "whatever danny opposes." Since you are opposed to "free trade," therefore "free trade" must be "fascism," is that about right?
Well, let me suggest you do some research with a dictionary or online -- I'll even point you in the right direction:
Wikipedia definition of Fascism
"...Fascism is an authoritarian or totalitarian nationalist ideology.[1][2] It is primarily concerned with solving the perceived problems of national decline or decadence, by achieving a millenarian national rebirth, calling for the subordination of individual self-interest to the interests of the nation or race, and promoting cults of unity, strength and purity.[3][4][5][6][7]
"Fascists typically seek to form a mass movement of militants who are willing to engage in violence against their perceived enemies.[8] Fascism opposes communism, conservatism, democracy, individualism, international socialism, liberalism, materialism, pacifism, laissez faire capitalism and political pluralism.[9][4][3][10][11][12][13][14][15]
"Some fascists see themselves as advocating a third position alternative to both capitalism and communism.
"Various scholars attribute different characteristics to fascism, but the following elements are usually seen as its integral parts: nationalism (including collectivism and populism based on nationalist values); third positionism (including class collaboration, corporatism, economic planning, mixed economy, national socialism, national syndicalism, protectionism,); authoritarianism and totalitarianism (including dictatorship, indoctrination, major social interventionism, and statism); and militarism.[16][17]
"Some authors reject broad usage of the term or exclude certain parties and regimes.[18]
"Following the defeat of the Axis powers in World War II, there have been few self-proclaimed fascist groups and individuals.
"In contemporary political discourse, the term fascist is often used by adherents of some ideologies as a pejorative description of their opponents."
Please note that, by definition, "fascism" opposes conservatism, democracy, individualism, & capitalism, while supporting corporatism and protectionism.
But here's the bottom line. Even considering the scholarly definitions above, you can still boil it all down to the following: for all practical purposes, "fascism" is synonymous with "national socialism." That's because historically, fascists have been, first and foremost socialists!
Your quote is from the the Gettysburg Address, not the Constitution.
danny, danny, danny... !!!
You clearly have NO CLUE what's IN the US Constitution and what's NOT, do you?
So listen to me!
Go get a US Constitution.
Read it.
Then read it again.
Then read it again.
Repeat this process until you've figured out what the Constitution SAYS, and what it DOESN'T SAY.
Let me give you a clue:
The US Constitution is a CONTRACT to provide for BASIC federal government functions, such as national defense and regulation of interstate commerce, and to otherwise LIMIT it's powers (i.e., "Congress shall make NO LAWS regarding....").
Start off with that idea, and you won't go very wrong again.
First, see my post #29 above.
Now, read especially what the Constitution says about "invasion," "insurrection" and "rebellion."
You'll find that Lincoln had CONSIDERABLE constitutional powers during the Civil War.
And if you ever wondered WHY those powers are there, then you might want to think back to just WHO was IN CHARGE of the Constitutional Convention in 1787. Do you remember?
That's right, it was George Washington, a man with considerable experience in all manner of problems relating to "nation building." ;-)

That is incorrect. Communism is where the government OWNS the businesses (and obviously controls them). Fascism is where businesses are privately owned but controlled by the government. With as easy as it is to gether information in this day and age, it's surprising that you're still towing that line.
I own a business. Big whoop! You're actually trying to say that under a Fascist regime, suddenly the government would listen to me but not my neighbor because he doesn't own a business?
Dannyprimrose1, you’re thick as a brick on Fascism, and your hatred of business shines through. Which means that one of the following is likely to be true...
A) You’re dirt poor and you pretend that it’s everyone elses fault.
.or.
B) You’re a leftist.
Will you do it for me? And while you're there, look up Fascism too!
