I like Wrigley Field in Chicago. It still retains the feel of the "America's pastime" days.

Good point, however it still was considered the “House that Ruth” built since it was on the same spot and not totally demolished for renovations.

I once thought that the only good thing to come out of New York City was a Reuben Sandwich. Then I discovered it originated in Kansas!

Our PNC Park is waaaaay nicer (cannot beat the skyline and homeruns hit into the River). Now if you want to complicate the issue with winning...well that’s another story...but PNC really is a ‘Cathedral to the Game.’

That's a good point, but let's get real here. The Yankees franchise is one of the most valuable team in any sports league on the planet, and yet they leech off the taxpayers of New York City to the tune of hundreds of millions of dollars to finance their playground.
I say this as a Yankee fan, too.

I think you have this mistaken for a Dallas Cowboys thread.

I like the newer stadiums better than these older places built in the 70’s. Although, I hope they don’t tear down Wrigley until I get there one last time.
I’ve never been to PNC but I’ve heard its a great place to catch a game.

Here in Indy, we not only paid for a $700 mil stadium for the Colts, but the Colts get the revenue from other events there. Talk about a gravy deal for the Irsays.
The state high school football playoffs are probably going to have to move to smaller venues because the cost of renting the new stadium is prohibitive.
To: Boiling Pots
Were taxpayer funds used to build this?THAT is the key question. I'm sure that the taxpayers are footing the bill for this, as they do in most major cities with sports teams. Whether they are fans or not.
That those outside of fans should pay for a stadium is truly an outrage. All so that 60,000 or 80,000 well-heeled fans can enjoy a live game played by a handful of millionaires. Sacrifice of the many to benefit the few.

not totally demolished for renovations I cannot think of a single thing that was retained except for the location of home plate. I was at the "old ballpark" (a little Red Barber lingo there) a reasonable number of times; and I worked on a small part of the "renovation" so I was there a lot more than I wanted to be. After a while they'll call the new place "the house that Ruth built" too. And the stupid fans will eat it up and talk about all the great tradition.

Sorry, no.
Hint: I’m a fan of the team that gave you Josh Beckett so he could slay Yankees every year.

Not sure how you can make that statement given that teams keep their books closed. Further, the Yankees are profitable not because of the team itself but because of the YES Network.

I love how they’ve used the arch design from the current stadium. Very classy.
