The overpriced home of the most overrated, overcovered team in professional sports.

we should celebrate one of the few organizations sports-based, or otherwise, who are able to run a profitable and successful business in good times and bad.

I take it your team doesn’t have 26 championships. (And no I’m not a Yankees fan)

and, oh yeh, the winningest...(little tidbit you left out- and I’m a Mets fan)....
I’ve driven past in on a number of occasions...it’s a little smaller than the original from the outside but very impressive....has a gothic, almost roman feel to it....

The Yanks do pride themselves on respect for their tradition, which is why the new stadium upset some fans since they were leaving the “House that Ruth Built”.

Smells like envy there.
Is your team of a "small" market? If so, you can thank the Bronx Bombers and other "large" market teams for carrying your team's water/pay roll... you know Robin Hood taking from the rich giving to the "poor" thing?

Good, more circuses and bread while the rest of the Republic crumbles.

Celebrate what? The Yankees just spent over $200 million on pitching and then had the nerve to ask for over $200 million in public financing because of construction cost overruns. In addition, they, along with the city of NY falsified the actual worth of the property the new stadium was built on. Oh, and how about the public park that was torn down to make way for the new stadium? It was supposed to be replaced with new parkland, but now it looks like that won't happen either. The best thing that can happen to the Yankees is that the ghosts of the old stadium don't make the trip across 161st street to the new stadium. And just to make sure Ol' Babe won't be helping out, the Yankees cursed themselves by breaking ground for the new stadium on the anniversary of Babe Ruth's death. PS. I'm born and raised in The Bronx, so don't think I'm some rabid Sox fan.

I’m a diehard Yankees fan, but with all due respect no it’s not - not even close. In the end its just a game played by multi-millionaires and does not house the Vicar of Christ nor stand above St. Peter’s tomb.

There is something nice about being a Pittsburgh Pirate fan. When you go to a game you know your gonna lose. A win is an unexpected surprise.
I really don't care about the Yankees in the junior circuit with that stupid DH rule. Will admit I watch (on TV) with amazement how the Yankees fill their stadium and at such a high price for tickets.
I do love baseball and go to Bradenton (home of the Pirates) for spring training each year. Now that is fun at $6-$10 a ticket. And, you get to meet the players.

The Yanks do pride themselves on respect for their tradition Cut the BS. The Yankees haven't played in the "the house that Ruth built" since 1973. It's just another stadium on the same site as the old one.

I know people who have shunned going to MLB games in order to go to minor league games - WAY cheaper, more family friendly and fun.
