I cannot think of a single thing that was retained except for the location of home plate. I was at the "old ballpark" (a little Red Barber lingo there) a reasonable number of times; and I worked on a small part of the "renovation" so I was there a lot more than I wanted to be. After a while they'll call the new place "the house that Ruth built" too. And the stupid fans will eat it up and talk about all the great tradition.

Well I was too young to remember the renovations, being 3 at the time...so I will take your word for it. I guess I’m one of millions of “stupid fans”. Thanks for the history lesson.
