How do we post pics of our companions? I tried once, using photobucket, and failed.

I am picture-posting challenged, but I have three little critters. Two cockers and a chihuahua. One cocker I got as a fuzzy little baby. The other I adopted from a cocker rescue. Miss Taco Bell I inherited when my dad passed away almost two years ago. My last promise to him was I would take care of her. We are almost never separated and it almost, in a way, gives me some extended time with my Dad.
All three of my varmints are quite pampered and spoiled. Actually, maybe they have spoiled me. Most people only wish they could be loved that much. :-)

Thanks for this thread. As far as I'm concerned dogs are God's most wonderful creation. Their devotion, loyalty, and unconditional love can serve as lessons for us all. I am the proud papa of a 2 year-old Akita/Shiba Inu mix who is my best friend and constant companion. Watching him grow from a 2 month-puppy that weighed just 4 1/2 pounds into the 60 pound adult dog he's become has been a joy to behold and I treasure the experience and happy memories....even if he's been a handful a time or two.
I wish this was a better picture of my boy, but it was taken last month at the Pittsburgh Pet Expo......I wonder what he told Santa Claus?

May I be added to the freeper doggie ping list? I’d be happy to post a picture of her, if I can figure out how ;)

Zeus lounging on the deck. Half mutt & half mongrel. Best dang dog I ever had. Pic doesn't show he's 65 pounds, but does show his gentleness. An 8-year-old pup. :-)

Just after Christmas last year, I adopted a small bichon poodle mix neutered male about 8 years old from the Humane Society. He was listed as "urgent" so I was afraid they would euthanize him since he is an older dog. He had been turned in as a stray, covered with burrs, the previous Nov. They couldn't give me any other info. on his past.
Well, it has been an interesting experience. He still basically inhabits either one of the two couches in the family room only rarely getting down on the floor, and then it's pretty much right back onto the couch. He often barks when we leave the room or the house (abandonment issues). He will not leave one of the couches to follow me around the house. He will follow my other bichon out the door onto the deck to do his business and will follow him back in then get back on his couch. Once only, I have seen him playing with the other dog.
He will run into my bedroom and sleep beside my bed on a doggy bed if I pick him up and get him started toward the room. We still have to feed him in a room by himself with the door closed because he is too scared to eat with anyone around him. He occasionally snaps if we make sudden moves around him, and he is still sometimes scared of Mr. Adler. If I approach him on his couch, he will come slowly to me, then crane his head away and start to back off. He is still so scared of everything.
I am glad I rescued him, and we are resigned to probably having an impaired dog for as long as he lives. My other bichon was also a shelter dog but had been given up to the shelter as a young dog, and he is perfectly normal and really a wonderful dog. I will get only shelter animals from now on.
Recently got a shelter kitten who has turned into a swell pet and gets along fine with the dogs.
To find a shelter pet, go to petfinder.org. Shelters all over the country put their adoptible pets on that website. It is great!

Thanks for this thread. Our four legged family members mean a lot to my wife and I. Here our ours...
This is Max cuddling with our daughter. I still can't believe how much he adores her... but I'm glad. It's an extra sense of security for me.

Here is our little miss priss. She's a German Shepherd crossed with a Whippet. When she steps out the back door, the squirrels shiver in fear... LOL

Both of our dogs are rescues. They are our furry children.
