Astronomers looking at the spectacular supersonic plumes of gas and dust shooting off one of Saturn's moons say there are strong hints of liquid water, a key building block of life.
Their research, appearing in Thursday's issue of the journal Nature, adds to the growing push to explore further the moon Enceladus, as one of the solar system's most compelling places for potential life.
Using images from NASA's Cassini probe, astronomers had already figured that the mysterious plumes shooting from Enceladus' icy terrain contain water vapor. New calculations suggesting the gas and dustspew at speeds faster-than-sound make the case for liquid, said study lead author Candice Hansen of NASA's Jet Propulsion Lab in California. Her team calculated the plumes travel more than 1,360 mph.

Rising CO2 levels and global warming on Saturn - oh no!
Saturn needs a bailout. Not the car company - the planet.
Interesting stuff
Al Gore farted!
Done, done. The Obamamessiah says it will be so
Saturn's famous rings are nearly as old as the solar system, not 100 million years old, as had been assumed, a Colorado astronomer told a gathering of the nation's top space scientists Wednesday. They didn't form during the days of the dinosaurs, but are 4.5 billion years old, University of Colorado professor and planetary scientist Larry Esposito said at the American Geophysical Union convention in San Francisco.

I’ll Say!
Like humans... planets have gas, too?
Is dustspew evidence that we are all butdust?
All evidence indicates the solar system is approximately 4.6 billion years old.
[[All of the ougassing planets and their outgassing moons point towards a younger age for the Solar System. Not 6000 years young, but a much younger age than the current models insist.]]
Yeah I just read about that last night infact- Seems the moon is still possibly producing lava- Japanse scientists are stunned and apparently trying to come up with some lame excuse to explain it away. If it turns out to be a fact, it’s goign to be just one more ‘oopsie’ for long ager scientists
