Apply for a Job
After January 16, 2009, we will no longer be accepting applications on change.gov. Beginning January 20, the Obama-Biden Administration will accept applications on www.whitehouse.gov.
This website is designed to provide prospective applicants with information to help them apply for positions in the Obama-Biden Administration. President-Elect Obama will make appointments throughout the federal government. Some positions will require Senate confirmation while others will not. Some appointments will be made during the transition process and others during the early part of the new Administration.
Applicants for any of these non-career positions - whether in the White House or in any Federal Department, Agency or Commission - should use this website, as applying on-line is the fastest and most accurate way to get your information to us. (If you are interested instead in a career, civil service position with the federal government, you should proceed to the Office of Personnel Management website at http://www.usajobs.gov.)
If you apply for a position now, you will not need to apply again after January 20th. Applications submitted now to the Obama-Biden Transition Project will be retained and considered by the Office of Presidential Personnel after President-Elect Obama takes office.
Application Process:
Please complete and submit the on-line Expression of Interest Form below.
Within a few days, you will receive an email with a link to a more complete on-line application.
Upon submitting your full on-line application you will receive an e-mail acknowledgment.
If and when you are considered for a specific position, you will be asked to fill out additional forms, including financial disclosures, and be subject to other reviews which may include FBI background checks.

“Guerrilla Job Search Techniques - Do They Work?”
Published 20 min ago, by Joan Firstenberg
SNIPPET: “Most experts see networking as the best way to find a job, and job searchers these days can easily network through the many Web sites that are currently available, including Twitter, Facebook and LinkedIn. But the problem is that everyone now knows about these sites, making them less effective than when they first appeared.”

SNIPPET: “A career in the RCMP offers a variety of experiences in the organization and excellent chances for promotion, says Const. Wade MacDonald, RCMP recruiting officer for Prince George and the North.
“We’re in a hiring mode for the next five years,” he said this week. “We’re looking to hire 10,000 police officers during that time period.
“We need so many people that, if you ever wanted to enter the RCMP, now is the time to get in.”
The RCMP can also provide stability of employment during times of economic uncertainty in many industries like forestry, mining and oil and gas. “That’s a big plus for us,” he noted.
MacDonald holds two career presentations per month at the RCMP’s North District offices, 4020 Fifth Avenue.
Prospective applicants should attend one of these sessions.
The next step is to take the entrance exam. MacDonald holds one entrance exam at the North District offices every month, sometimes two.
The career presentations and entrance exam sessions are advertised in newspapers and on the RCMP website, www.rcmp.ca
This month MacDonald holds a career presentation on Jan. 28 at 6 p.m. and another one on Jan. 31 at 9 a.m. The RCMP entrance exam will be held Jan. 31 at 1 p.m.”
