'Every day brings this nation closer to Nazi-style totalitarian abyss'
WASHINGTON Because it has abandoned moral absolutes and its historic Christian faith, the U.S. is moving closer to a Nazi-style totalitarianism, warns a former German member of the Hitler Youth in a new book.

Show trials in the banana republic of USA - coming soon to TV near you...
I agree. They’ll only be too happy to hand the world his head on a silver platter. Wonder who would be next? Rice? Cheney?
“Hysteria doesnt alert people. Calm, rational facts do. Lets get though this all together, and fight if the temperature rises too much.”
Hysteria? Well, at least there’s variety in your condescension.
“Its like a woman being very subtly stalked by a killer. If he doesnt do anything wrong, the police cannot even help her. Sadly, he has to get out of line before its obvious he intended harm. We have to watch and wait.”
The woman could be armed and say to the killer: “I am armed and I will shoot you in the head if you come near me.”
But that would require that she was lucid enough to realize that she is about to be preyed upon AND free enough to be armed and able to defend herself.
“We have to watch and wait.”
Christ, I’m afraid that you just might represent the bulk of our population.
One thing IS for certain. The left is neither “watching” or “waiting” they are busy kicking your ass, in real-time.
Nothing to see here, folks. Move along. Just a few hundred million sleeping, formerly free humans.
Bump.
I agree with everything you said in your limited gov’t post.
I was not being condescending. Sorry if it sounded so.
Watching and waiting is OK at this point. What are you doing, heading to DC with your musket? The election was last week. What would you have people do, and why?
“I knew America was over when we elected Clinton. It was just a matter of time before we went all the way.”
IMO, you’re exactly right. When, in spite of all the evidence, the electorate voted Clinton into office, it was clear that the nation had its collective head stuck so far up its *ss it was never coming out.
“I was not being condescending. Sorry if it sounded so.”
“What are you doing, heading to DC with your musket?”
Sorry, indeed.
“What would you have people do, and why?”
I would have them wake up and look around at what’s happening to them.
They aren’t being treated like Americans. They’re being treated like fools and mules, for Christ’s sake!
Once that happened I wouldn’t have to tell them anything — they’d know what to do.
And, brother, your apathy and cynicism is EXACTLY what I’m talking about!
“Motor Voter/Early ballot voting”
I mean, really. Do we need any additional evidence that the right is presently mentally retarded than this?
Now, who do you suppose this was designed to benefit? Republicans or Democrats?
Hint: Republicans have been known to turn-off the TV and set down the Soda can long enough to go and vote. Democrats? Well, offer free cigs, pizza, porn or granola and you might get a few of the more eager ones to go through the motions.
It doesn't work that way. If productivity increases and the money suppy does not, deflation occurs, which is almost as bad as inflation. As long as the government does not spend money they haven't raised by taxation and borrowing, the danger of hyperinflation does not exist.
Any spending by the government above that required for it to perform its legitimate functions (the Army and the courts, basically) is a diversion of resources and distorts markets.
"All the armies of Europe, Asia and Africa combined, with all the treasure of the earth (our own excepted) in their military chest; with a Buonaparte for a commander, could not by force, take a drink from the Ohio, or make a track on the Blue Ridge, in a trial of a thousand years. At what point then is the approach of danger to be expected? I answer, if it ever reach us, it must spring up amongst us. It cannot come from abroad. If destruction be our lot, we must ourselves be its author and finisher. As a nation of freemen, we must live through all time, or die by suicide."- Abraham Lincoln, 1838
Excellent thread.
I’ll be spending some time on it.
Thank you, backhoe!
Oh, I am terrified. I have said before, my gut tells me that this is more than just “disagreeing with policies”. And from the looks of faces in this country since the election, it seems alot feel the same.
This economic BS is manufactured as far as I’m concerned. Yes, poor and stupid policies got us going, but the crashing was set in place to cause a panicked election.
And it worked for 52% of this nation.
You are correct.
But I was referring to the current situation only.
If it starts, please grab my info so I can join the Resistance.
And I mean that.
It won’t be 10 year in, it will at the FIRST sign. Including a “Civilian Army” and forced community service.
By the way, I made a point yesterday to someone.
Does everyone realize that the difference between a Civilian Army and a police force (and I had a stupid lib tell me the other day “We have police, that’s a form of civilian army”) is that the police is ran locally. The Civilian Army would be under the sole command of Obama.
THAT is frightening.
Look, it was 5 years from so called election of Hitler until the Concentration camps.
So many people think that Hitler barged into office and just started rounding up Jews and killing them.
NO! It took years of CRISIS and HUNGER and FAMINE and FEAR and HYPNOTIC and UPLIFTING SPEECHES for the German people to be willing to turn a blind eye to the rounding up of a segment of the population. And even then, they were so willing to be misled, they didn’t want to believe that the people were going to die.
I think that America is prime for this Nazi style takeover just for the simple arrogance which is shown by “be realistic, it can’t happen here”.
I appreciate your looking, and the encouraging words. I’m not kidding about the tagline- I wish I were...
“This economic BS is manufactured as far as Im concerned.”
As evidenced by Paulsons statement that we are not going to use the “crisis” bailout money the way we originally said we were going to use it. Even though many of us protested the bailout, in the end the joke is on all of us and I am still NOT laughing.
