Well Hunter sure lit a bunch of fires the last time he ran didn’t he. Conservatism means nothing if you don’t win. Some people don’t seem to understand that.

like Jindal, Palin, Cantor...the Younger Generation

No offense meant, but there ain't a one of them that stands in the shade of Duncan Hunter. There isn't enough track record to tell where they truly stand yet.

On any given crisis, I can sit back and pretty confidently predict Hunter's position- And if I miss, it's because I'm going to like what he thought of better.

With age comes wisdom, providing that character was present in the first place, which is why our present popular choices are so unwise.

Given the republican party's attitude towards true conservatives, what else would you expect? They ignored him, and kept his name as hidden as possible. The RINO's run the party.

Sarah gained the national spotlight solely by virtue of being picked as the VP candidate. She's genuine, and considerably more conservative than her running mate, or so it would seem. She's popular because she's not a RINO. I don't think that the party leaders would have picked here - they'd want somebody closer to the left. That's the party leadership.

I couldn't tell you which would be preferred between Duncan Hunter and Sarah Palen, but I think they'd make a good Presidential team. We'll never know though, since the party is too stupid to let a conservative see the light of day in terms of heading the Republican Presidential ticket.

“Hunter is a fine conservative, but he has the personality of a bullfrog.”

And you sound just like the Nellie Olson’s of the media because you don’t know what you’re talking about. Just throw out an opinion based on a bias.

Now, I’d rather see Palin at the top of the ticket. I think Duncan Hunter would agree. Who is the most conservative? Hunter. We really don’t know ‘how’ conservative Palin is yet.

It’s impossible to win when the media and the GOP sideline you! McCain is finding that out right now. What goes around comes around, as they say.

I'll tell you what... Let's start the primaries in the South, move to the Rockies, then to the Midwest, then to the Southwest, then to the Rustbelt, then to the West Coast and the Northeast...

It's a fair bet the Rinos would have a hard time staying alive, and the Conservatives would be all the rage. Wanna see?

“..Conservatism means nothing if you don’t win....”

Absolutely...I see many who are stuck on the same crap again here...

YOU NEED GREAT TALKERS (conservative obviously)

Thompson/Hunter are great man, but they do not light fire under anyone...

Its not conservative the problem, its the “smooooozer” -

You will find MANY conservatives, but how many of these conservatives have the gab of talk that will bring you victory....This way conservatism will win...

No kidding! I’m sick of New Hampshire and Iowa picking MY president! The race is over by the time it gets to most of us.

(sorry for the edit)

Perhaps Senator McCain, my friend, could hint at that one-term thing, as in: right now??

So far, no “Pissant” response about Duncan Hunter? Surprising!

You might as well add Fred Thompson, Tom Tancredo, Chuck Baldwin, Bob Barr, and Alan Keyes, if you want a total list of ‘08 Presidential candidates (present candidates or former candidates) who are serious considerations for “the ultimate conservative candidate”!

How do you think Hunter would have done amongst us great unwashed out here in Jesusland, had we the chance to fire him up, AuntB?

Can you speculate who the "top tier" would have been if the primaries were conducted as I suggest?

Hunter just doesn’t have “it”, he will never be a national figure.

I would like to see the Republican primaries take place on ONE DAY.

I think we should change the all or nothing idea. Reward the delegates based on % of votes received. And group states by region and rotate who goes first each election. Take Iowa and NH of the mix as the deciders.
