(Vanity) What was the most memorable part of the debate for you?
FNC | 9/25/2008 | DGHoodini

I've been listening to the talking heads, all saying what they thought were going to be the take away comments from the debate, but not one mentioned the two that caught my attention the most.

The first one, was Obama agreeing matter of factly, that we sould be drilling our own oil, even though he's still spouting that old and disproved line that the US only has 3% of the worlds oil supply...

But what really made my eyebrows go up, was when Obama stated as a given, that we are going to have to build a lot more nuclear plants!!!

(snicker) Pelosi and the rest of the ecoTard luddites are going to be waiting for him with pitchforks and torches for that line. They want us all living like Baracks brother..those are the kinds of familial expectations the Dims have for us in the US.

Mud huts and a dollar a week, for us all...except for them...

I can see an SNL skit where Obama and McCain are in a restaurant and McCain is making a very detailed order and Obama makes a bunch of sh#tty smirky faces while the waiter is writing, and then Obama says “I’ll have what HE’s having..”

Early review has Obama agreeing with McCain 8 times.

If that is indeed true...Obama is going to move center over the next 40 days.

I find that risky as he could alienate his base when I believe most minds are already made up.

If Obama’s base does not show up to vote that would be so great.

Took me right back to the Bush/Gore debates, remember how Algore did all that huffing and puffing? I’m sure it’s some sort of tactic a-la-Alinsky designed to make people think “wow, if he’s so disdainful of the other guy, the other guy really must be wrong.”

Obama sticks his nose in the air and his chin up, looks like a long-necked turtle peaking out of its shell. He kept mouthing to Jim Lehrer, “MOM!! It’s MY TURN!! MOM!! He’s taking MY time!!” like a little kid.

“I have a bracelet, too” was definitely THE stupidest of many stupid comments. But that he agreed with McCain on almost all of McCain’s points made me wonder if he, too, weren’t voting for McCain.

I liked watching O’s jaw get tighter and tighter as he fought his agitation and anger. McCain just kept smiling...

Did you notice at first he said he got the bracelet from the Sargent, then corrected himself and said he got it from his family.

While it was a spirited debate tonight, there was no memorable moment, imo. I thought McCain won handily, but not in a resounding fashion. Obama didn't look good or sound good for most of the debate.

In the first half hour debating current economic conditions, McCain got a taste of what to expect from Obama in the next two debates -— class warfare rhetoric. McCain needs to make sure he's well prepared and sharp with the facts the next two times he debates Obama.

When McCain said (paraphrasing) ... there are parts of Pakistan that haven’t been ruled since Alexander the Great.

He was great tonight!

"Obama had weirdo facial expressions..."

Exactly. That's what I remember. His usual smirks and sneers. He tilts his head down and looks up, out of the corners of his eyes. Just like a mean little 5 year old.

Both candidates can pronounce country names and complicated names of leaders in those countries.

Oh, something else, maybe nit-picky but whatever. Obama had a very affected way of saying Pakistan. “Pock-ee-Stahn.” and Taliban “Tolly-bahn”. Shades of John Kerry’s Jenjis Khan, kwim?

“Senator Obama has the most liberal voting record in the United States Senate. It’s hard to reach across the aisle from that far to the left”

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
And did you see the happy sh*t eating grin Barry had on his face during and after McCain said that line? He(Obama) just thinks he’s *soooo* clever.
The one thing I’ll remember and look for in the next debate
Obama, -—in his answer to the opening question spoke so eloquently that I wondered if he was looking at a teleprompter. He spoke clearly and directly. After that momemt was over and he began to answer questions ad lib, I realized that that first spiel must have been memorized and practiced over and over. So-— if that is so, he needs a script to appear presidential. On his own, he has the usual ‘spaced out’ answers.
That is truly pathetic. Did he just get the bracelet yesterday or what?
