Proposed standards would give evolution a boost

A proposal for curriculum standards for science courses in Texas would remove language requiring students be taught the "strengths and weaknesses" of all scientific theories, wording which some say has been used to undermine the theory of evolution.

Proposals released Tuesday from review committees of teachers and academics would also put up roadblocks for teachers who want to discuss creationism or "intelligent design" in biology classes when covering the subject of evolution.

The biology review committee proposed language that states supernatural and religious-based concepts such as creationism have no place in science classes.

The standards are subject to approval by the state Board of Education, where a majority of members have said they are in favor of retaining the current mandate to cover both strengths and weaknesses of major scientific theories, notably evolution.

When it comes to school, there’s no place like home.

Some people believe that God created them. Others believe their ancestors were apes. The operative word here is “believe” because no one recorded the origin of man with a video camera.

Jesus taught that God created all things, and He also
creates faith in the hearts of His children. “And no one shall pluck them out of My hand,” promised Jesus (John 10:27)...not even the Monkey Men.

Christian parents should warn their children that their faith in Jesus will be attacked by Satan at every turn, but if they are faithful until they die, they will receive the crown of life (Rev. 2:10). There is an eternal reward for faithfulness to Jesus and His Word.

Actually there was. It is the human and chimpanzee genome comparison. There is no longer a scientific arguement. Humans and chimps evolved from a common ancestor.

"Chimpanzee Sequencing and Analysis Consortium. Here we present a draft genome sequence of the common chimpanzee (Pan troglodytes). Through comparison with the human genome, we have generated a largely complete catalogue of the genetic differences that have accumulated since the human and chimpanzee species diverged from our common ancestor, constituting approximately thirty-five million single-nucleotide changes, five million insertion/deletion events, and various chromosomal rearrangements. We use this catalogue to explore the magnitude and regional variation of mutational forces shaping these two genomes, and the strength of positive and negative selection acting on their genes. In particular, we find that the patterns of evolution in human and chimpanzee protein-coding genes are highly correlated and dominated by the fixation of neutral and slightly deleterious alleles. We also use the chimpanzee genome as an outgroup to investigate human population genetics and identify signatures of selective sweeps in recent human evolution."

Also, Jesus doesn't say much about creation except: "But in the beginning, at the time of creation, it was said, 'God made them male and female'" (Mark 10:6). That's it.

There is evidence for one of these two scenarios, while the other relies solely on belief.

“There is evidence for one of these two scenarios, while the other relies solely on belief. “

Solely based on *your* opinion.

Solely based on *your* opinion.

Opinions are not necessary. This is one of the strengths of science: competing claims can be evaluated according to their evidence. The evidence for the theory of evolution is overwhelming. Religious claims (e.g., young earth and global flood) have not fared so well when confronted with the evidence.

But when religious claims compete with one another, that's when you are left to rely on opinion and belief. That's why there are some 4,200+ world religions and in excess of 40,000 different flavors of Christianity. Source

Another example of the worship of coercive Big Government Public Schools by Hardcore Evolutionists on Free Republic.

The hardcore evolutionists on Free Republic claim to be for small government (as a dishonest way to justify their obvious liberalism on social issues and an evolving constitution) while worshipping extreme Big Government coercion at its very worst, "the Big Government Public Schools" run by the far left.

The hardcore evolutionists always resort judcial oligarchy, revisionism and worship of the leftist public school system. All of these are examples of Big, Centralized Government.

A pack of liars at best.
