Idea: Have Palin debate Obama (Discussion Thread)
fellow FReeper | September 25, 2008 | self

Posted on 09/25/2008 3:15:10 AM PDT by awaken2spirit

Fellow FReeper, "beaware" suggested in another thread, the idea of having Sarah Palin debate Barack Obama in place of McCain. McCain stays on task in the Senate and Palin steps in for McCain. As "beaware" put it:

“Send Sarah in to Debate the empty suit. He has more important things to do in Washington... Sometimes the VP has to stand in for the Pres ya know...”

I think this idea is brilliant. Have the McCain camp offer it up late Thursday or even Friday morning. Frame it as "She might have to step in, so it would be appropriate for her to debate Obama". Sarah could tell him to "Put up, or Shut up". I think she could hold her own, and possibly rip the "O" a new one.

What do you all think of this idea? Just wanted to bring this idea to your attention and start a discussion on its merits. Please Comment.

If he got wind of that, all of a sudden he’d feel the need to join McCain in Washington!

“How about a duel?”

Yeah! I just love this idea. “Sarah the Barracuda” versus “Barrack the Community Organizer”. You know that would get viewers.

On the other hand, if Obama debates himself, he over-exposes himself once again. I just hope he doesn’t have a teleprompter on the debate floor.

“If he got wind of that, all of a sudden he’d feel the need to join McCain in Washington!”

Either way, it throws him off his game. McCain forces his moves stand and debate or run back to Washington.

PALIN SHOULD FILL IN FOR MCCAIN AT THE DEBATE

Palin is the potential vice-president for McCain.

Palin should fill in for McCain at the debate; while McCain works on the economic issues.

While McCain is upholding his oath of office [I hope], Obama is failing to uphold his. They are still, after all, senators. Our nation needs senators to help solve this problem.

Thanks for the pic. I love this idea. Palin could taunt Obama: “Fish or Cut Bait!”

... uh .... theoretically speaking. We especially need senators from keeping this problem from getting any worse.

Did you hear his snotty response to McCain’s invitation last night? What a pedantic prick.

I’d like to think this was the plan all along. It would certainly be very instructive. It would also be very surprising, but that’s the thing about mavericks.

Absolutely. Obama whacks while McCain gets down to business. Maybe this is a gift.

Another idea is to have McCain debate via satellite from DC.

He could say, "I am so sorry I could not join Senator Obama on stage tonight, but I felt my place was to be in the Senate trying to ease this crisis America is facing"

Obama could then say, "uh, uh, I told them to call me if they needed me"

COUNTRY FIRST

Looks like Cindy beat you by 45 minutes. Great minds think alike. Perhaps you should ask to have this thread frozen?
