Good morning, FReepers (...afternoon to those on the east coast)
I was late in discovering that FR has been dealing with technical difficulties, to say the least. I just visited World Net Daily and discovered that their site appears to be going through some trouble as well. Does anyone have details as to what the problem is? Hackers?

John Robinson messed up. He’s fixing it. I don’t think he broke the other site though.
Obama campaign workers doing what they’ve been paid to do. It’s obvious that Senator Obama believes in the First Amendment only as far as it can help his election.
They just washed the computers and now they can’t do a thing with them............
Darned betcha this was a major hack. FreeRepublic.com was not just targeted, it was nuked. With a 100 megaton thermonuclear device.
Would just like to know how this was done. Then a few other sites would be targeted. Might even include the actual perps.
We already know the rules of engagement. Now we just have to choose the sites for return fire.
The internet as we knew it is gone forever. Too many vanities and hand wringing over polls in the NEWS section, rumor has it.
I KNEW FR had hugh and series problems when I got back from lunch and when I hit the second or third page I saw the difference in dates. April 1, to Sept. 24. All the other threads were ZOTTED.

FR is having database problems so you post this in Activism? C’mon, folks, take it easy.
I mean, just in case we're all shut down overnight or something. Stranger things have happened.
Maybe we could all ‘meet’ at another and previously selected site, to communicate with each other till the ‘shutdown’ is repaired.

When I first stopped by FR, and realized there was a problem, my initial reaction was that the site had been hacked. When I visited WND, and discovered a problem there as well, I assumed these were attacks by the Obama camp.

I just freaked out. I was browsing the General/chat forum, already knowing about the database screwup, when I started seeing some weird threads about 2/3 of the way down. After reading the third thread, I saw the date.....
