I looked at them a few days ago, but didn’t see any I would pay the big bucks for. I have two or three in here, but the “good” ones are outside, in tubs.

I need to find my book so I can go directly to the tubs that have winter clothes. So much easier than boxes!!

"Quick, before you freeze!"

Remember that the eyelids are the last things to freeze. Blink, blink, and then they glaze over.

And don't be off-balance when it hits you, either. That would be bad.

That’s not a cheerful thought.

Well, my tender self endured five Alaskan winters before the age of six, so I’m thinking I’m not going to freeze solid just yet! LOL!

For now I’m warm. I haven’t turned the furnace on, but will get out my little space heater. It keeps the place at a fairly constant temp, and that’s good. All the critters like it! (Including me!)

I feel cold just thinking about it.

Ohyah. My hands are cold, which means I should probably grab the heater on my way to the kitchen for my cocoa.

Catz are still on the bed, and birds are not happy. One space heater coming up!

My forecast says 80 and up for the next several days. I guess we don’t need to get the warm clothes out yet.

Buffed the fluffers all night long (gotta find where all those pillows went now) but it didn't help. Fever's still up.

I'll pass on the cereal -- even with soy milk instead of regular I get intestinal difficulties, sort of like prune juice but less pleasant.

I’m sorry to hear that. Could this be related to your soggy climate?

j/k, it’s much more likely your travel, stressing your immune system while exposing you to all the germs in the world.

Actually, there's something like this going around, and it last for a while.

I probably have it worse due to travel stress and working in conditions masking some of the symptoms -- I might have detected the fever if I hadn't been working in a drafty cold hotel ballroom (they didn't have "demand-controlled ventilation" and their temperature controls weren't working well -- this is not unusual, btw, and a big waste of energy), and sleeping in a room that wouldn't get cool enough (also not unusual).

I ignored the occasional aches and hypersensitivity to food Tuesday on -- the cough alone would be enough to trigger the gag reflex.

Interestingly, there was a study mentioned in a seminar in the conference a couple weeks ago that shows that our climate is really not that soggy. FAR less than the midwest, northwest or south in the summer. And even when it is quite damp outside (like now) the dewpoint is such that it's quite pleasant inside.

Feeling better?

I feel lousy. Day three of a terrible head cold. I crept into the spare room last night so I wouldn’t keep my husband awake with my coughing and sniffling.

Where’s my nyquil?

Very interesting. I hope you both feel better soon. For future benefit, I read recently that you are most likely to acquire a viral infection if you touch your *eyes* after touching a source of infection.

Maybe that’s what did it. I do rub my eyes from time to time.

Sniffle.

Thankfully I have a four day weekend, so I won’t have to use any sick leave.

A little but not much. LoM came up with some cough medicine that does wonders and sometimes even lasts the four-hour period.
