Scientists from Leeds University have discovered that the world was ruled by pig-like creatures for a million years.
The Age of the Porcine occurred around 260 million years ago - when the creatures called lystrosaurs were the few survivors of a mass extinction.
Nearly 95 pct of the living species were destroyed by a series of volcanic eruptions leaving behind pigs in a golden age of no predators.
They had Earths abundant plant-life all to themselves.
We can only speculate on how lystrosaurs survived while the rest died.
Perhaps its ability to burrow and hibernate protected it from the worst periods, The Sun quoted Professor Paul Wignall of Leeds University, as saying The remarkable thing about the lystrosaurs was their size.
Nothing else that big seems to have got through the destruction - and that is why they were able to dominate Earth for so long. They fed and spread.
We think there were billions of them. Their fossils are everywhere, he added Lystrosaurs were similar in size to modern pigs, with snouts and small tusks for rooting around in vegetation. (ANI)
Now your talking about “Piltdown man” which was a deliberate fraud, promptly ignored and then discredited by Science.
You harp on these two notes because it is all you have to try to pluck out a symphony of “its all just fraud and one tooth”.
Laughable, seeings as how both were excellent examples of how fraud and wild extrapolation not based on evidence are CORRECTED by Science. Meanwhile Creationism embraces its frauds and charlatans and has no mechanism for correcting them.
Why the need for fraud?
And just where are the transitional forms for the modern apes? Do they have to find their own?
Why do you feel the need to fraudulently represent the completeness of these fossil finds? Why do you feel the need to fraudulently represent the significance of “Piltdown” and “Nebraska”?
Oh, so then you can fraudulently represent ANY fossil find as “one tooth” or “fraud”.
Why do YOU feel the need for fraud?
“Pig men” ping.
Lystrosaurus is a Triassic dicynodont who had survived the Permian extinction. It has been found in Asia, Africa, South America, and even Antarctica. It is very common in the early Triassic and at one time may have represented half the life on earth. Thanks FN!
Sorry, you’re the one “fraudulently representing” my posts as saying any fossil find as “one tooth” or “fraud”.
I simply asked if they did it AGAIN in this case. That’s it.
Must be an oversensitive bit on your part, knowing that evos NEED, yes NEED, fraud to support their case.
It is you who thinks that Science needs fraud to support its case, and yet the two cases you source actually DETRACT from the evolutionary evidence of human descent out of Africa. Neither was “needed”, and either finding, if authentic, would go against all other evidence of human evolution out of Africa.
You however NEED to think that all evidence that goes against your presuppositions are fraudulent, and therefore invent wild eyed conspiracy theories about what Scientists are engaged in.
LOL! Both Creationists and Islamists are gonna be angry at this, albeit for different reasons.
My favorite Pink Floyd album...
