It is time to get things underway.
A very wet Texas is digging out from the damage left from Hurrican Ike. Ike is now over the northeast and is still a very wet storm. Best wishes and prayers to those in Ike's path. As far as I know, we are enjoying a reprieve from tropical storms at the moment.
The NYTs has put out at least 4 stories smearing Sarah Palin. Have they covered the Ayers-Obama relationship? Have they investigated as to whether Nobama is even eligible to run for President? I don't think so. In a non-related matter, stock in the NYTs is at an all-time lo.
Speaking of stock and financial problems, Lehman Brothers has declared bancruptcy and Merrill-Lynch is facing a probable buyout by Bank of America.
We cannot ignore the IRS problems that Rangel is having. Not reporting income from a vacation home seems to be tax-fraud. Is he still active in Congress? Is he a demoncRAT?
There is 49 days left until the national elections. We have some work to do.

Sheesh! No power earlier this am. Molly called me around 8 this morning to tell me she had no power and asked if I would open the weekly thread. No problem, I said.
I put all the info in the post article page..clicked post....ummm...no worky. Tried it again...no worky.
I called my local Roadrunner..no answer. I called the toll free # and was told service was interrupted due to trees down,etc.

Oh, Glenn was great concerning Rangel and his tax mess. Glenn also slammed Pelosi. He was upset that Newt was put through heck and none of the Dems are when they do far worse.

Hey, don’t forget the other part of the Nobama-Iraq story: Nobama has been saying all along that it has been Bush’s ‘illegal’ war, but then when he visits Iraq, he conveniently ‘remembers’ that it had UN sanction and tried to get the delay taht, way, too. He also claimed that CONGRESS had a right to be in the troop deployment loop, totally ignoring the Constitution and separation of powers....;-))

I'm leaving in ten minutes for a flight to Montgomery. I'm actually going to LeRoy, Ala which is closer to Mobile - but there are zero rentals at Mobile Pensacola, etc.
After 2 hours of phojne calls - I found a car in Montgomery. So - I'll stay the night at the airport and drive
