It is time to get things underway.
A very wet Texas is digging out from the damage left from Hurrican Ike. Ike is now over the northeast and is still a very wet storm. Best wishes and prayers to those in Ike's path. As far as I know, we are enjoying a reprieve from tropical storms at the moment.
The NYTs has put out at least 4 stories smearing Sarah Palin. Have they covered the Ayers-Obama relationship? Have they investigated as to whether Nobama is even eligible to run for President? I don't think so. In a non-related matter, stock in the NYTs is at an all-time lo.
Speaking of stock and financial problems, Lehman Brothers has declared bancruptcy and Merrill-Lynch is facing a probable buyout by Bank of America.
We cannot ignore the IRS problems that Rangel is having. Not reporting income from a vacation home seems to be tax-fraud. Is he still active in Congress? Is he a demoncRAT?
There is 49 days left until the national elections. We have some work to do.
Hehehehe...well, the Philly Eagles just lost to the Cowboys and it was a loose affair if ever there was one...;-))
You’re dangerous fixing your own meals??? Grits and steaks, grits and eggs, grits and fish, grits and chicken? Cake, candy, cookies, ice cream?
Glad you’re back with us Toby, we were becoming a bit anxious.
Roomey just came upstairs. Happy as a clam at high tide, The Cowboys just took the game from the Eagles. So the Eagles did lose...loosely?
Good morning, folks!
Good morning, lysie. How are you today?
I'm well. How about you?
It's very cold here.
I’m holding my own. I suspect that it is cool here, but not cold and that it will warm up.
I watched the end of that game (I was up that way last weekend and the locals had the game won already since the Eagles are so good)
I missed it. What did McNabb( former SU q’back) do now?
It was a close game. Cowboys are just too good.
Good morning.
So glad you two finally got back on line yesterday!
Jemian did a great job on the start, didn’t she?!! Thanks, again, Jem.
Had the whole fam over for dinner last night, so was very busy in the kitchen most of the day. Being busy in the kitchen isn’t as easy as it used to be. I was exhausted last night.
Thanks and good morning.
When I landed last night in Alabama.....there was a crowd waiting to celebrate somebody in the military ( lots of flags and soldiers).
Anyway, my bag wasn’t there. They told me there were two more flights from Atlanta - so I could just wait (how nice of them) or they could bring it to the hotel.
Seems if the bags are too heavy, they spread the load over several planes.
The next plane was only 15 minutes away so I waited and watched the celebration (it wasn’t on that flight either).
It showed up at the hotel in the wee hours, however.
Off I go.
So, give us your menu. I'm hungry. LOL
Rest today if you can. (((LBK)))
Good morning, Raven dear. What in the world is going on in Leroy (pronounced LEE-roy, instead of leh-ROY)? Last I knew there was nothing there but pigs and pine trees. And why didn’t you drive? If it were me, I would have gone down the interstate to Chattanooga to B’ham to Montgomery and then across to Leroy. I really hate to fly.
LB, thank you for the kind words. It was my pleasure to start the thread. I really enjoy this thread. It gives me an opportunity to comment on life’s happenings w/o having to stick to a specific current event (on news threads).
Kassie, I’m hoping you’ll get power today. One, two days w/o power can be challenging, rise-to-the-occassion type stuff. But more than that it is just wearying.
Crude oil has dropped below $92 @ barrel. Gas prices in my area are very high.
JOHN MCCAIN IS COMING UP ON FOX AND FRIENDS AFTER THIS COMMERCIAL BREAK.
I didn’t drive because the guy next to me at work said it was a hard drive and had a lot of clickity clack concrete miles. And the gas situation.
I’m going to the power plant near Leroy.
The more I see, the more I like.
Sarah P. must have a big influence.
Must be the name. I know my Sarah P. has a big influence. :-)
