Apple has begun airing three new "Get a Mac" ads on U.S. network and cable television.

In "Pizza Box," PC stoops to disguising himself as a pizza to get college students to even look his way.

In "Throne," PC sits atop his throne, but Mac puts a damper on his fun.

I wouldn't write their obit just yet:

Of course not. I'm just saying if they want to sink Microsoft for good, all they have to do is drop the price.

"It will be a Vista machine since that is really all you can get"

Not true, I know of two good vendors that sell high quality laptops with XP, or Vista, or no OS at all. Freepmail me if you want the contact info (I don't like to post open messages that could be construed as shilling)

But look at all the tech people Microsoft keeps employed servicing their poorly designed platforms.

Really like Apple ads, slapping Microsoft around a little is a good thing because of Vista (for a whole host of reasons). Running XP Pro on my old Gateway 400 MHz, no problems (am somewhat amazed myself). Depending on what the hell “7” turns out to be will decide if my next will be PC or Apple.

I learnt how to install legacy apps on Vista this week. I also lernt how to configure the UI, even going back to the “Classic” look with the Vista feel. I learnt how to configure the performance options, too.

I charged my customer $300.00 for “tuning” his lappy and installing 3 legacy apps. LOL

I’m going to LOVE Vista!

Mac's do not allow you to run anything but their stuff, and that includes running other peoples stuff in an emulated environment. Furhtermore, PC's allow you to run a plethora of applications and operating systems from a plethora of hardware manufacturers. In addition they cost four times as much as a PC for the same performance. So in my opinion MAC’s are the machine for elitists by elitists.

I'm just stating the situation here in the cheap seats. If I need a new computer and one is $500 and the other $2,000, I'm going to have to get the $500 one.

The cost differential is nowhere near that much anymore. Apple costs about 20% more for the same hardware. My time is worth enough to make up the difference the very first time I don't have to wipe and reinstall Windows, which used to happen two or three times a year.

Macs are a _itch to service, tells me a certified (by the fruit company) Mac tech, adding that no wonder they can’t get into corporate environments.

Make an image. When needed, restore image.
Less than a dozen mouse clicks.
I’ve had great success with Acronis...

I’m not sure I’ve ever seen so much uninformed horse s#it in one paragraph. Every single thing you said about Macs is false except your opinion, and that’s crap.

I recommend buying a new hard drive for it (so you can keep your preload) or at least use TrueImage or Ghost to save the preload image before you do anything.

I have grown to like Vista, and am glad that I got the chance to work with it before I had to nuke it. It’s really well thought out EXCEPT for the breaking of compatibility with some previous apps (which is why I had to get rid of it). There are some things in it that Apple could learn from, IMHO.

I would just re-install. I would never buy any computer with a pre-installed operating system without the original installation disk(s).

On a side note, I have yet to get any vista laptop to work with my home wi-fi network. Literally ANYTHING else works without a hitch.

BTW, it is MAC Address protected with encryption turned off.

The part after the comma contradicts the part before the comma... ;)

The “calming teas” one is brilliant - the tea for dealing with system crashes is, of course, BSOD blue. One of the best ads ever.
