Yup.

Good luck to all in the path of the storm.

The media is attempting to make something out of nothing so to speak. True enough there are power outages around the area but damage is minimal at best.... But I don’t think the damage will bad to equipment but more likely fuses, etc thus hopefully power will be restored much more rapidly.

Light winds, <30 mph basically with rain mixed in and out as the bands pass over. One of our local tv stations has multiple weather stations set up around the area [schools, businesses, etc] and looking at them there isn’t the sustained wind the national weather group is talking about. They basically are poop poop the info.

Looks like it came on shore between Sabine Pass and High Island.

Where it’s still hot and dry, 30-40 miles north of Corpus Christi.

Per usual, the GOM storm has made its customary jog to the right prior to landfall. One of these days, this phenomenon will be wrapped into the forecast-—and we will be surprised.

I'm pretty sure that Nash Roberts used to factor in that phenomenon, back when he was the central Gulf Coast's tropical weather guru. But then, he didn't let the computers do all the thinking for him - perhaps that's the difference.

Looks like it kinda got stuck on the coast for now and appears to be moving more westerly right now, have to wait and see if she stalls for any period of time. If it wobbles another 50 miles west flooding could be a big problem.

Power has blinked several times here, but a stiff breeze can do that.

We’re in a good summer squall. Sheet rain, strongish gusts. No big deal so far.

That's a good hurricane song. I remember singing it in the high school chorus.
