Per usual, the GOM storm has made its customary jog to the right prior to landfall. One of these days, this phenomenon will be wrapped into the forecast-—and we will be surprised.

I'm pretty sure that Nash Roberts used to factor in that phenomenon, back when he was the central Gulf Coast's tropical weather guru. But then, he didn't let the computers do all the thinking for him - perhaps that's the difference.

Power has blinked several times here, but a stiff breeze can do that.

We’re in a good summer squall. Sheet rain, strongish gusts. No big deal so far.
