My Dragonfly And Me

If I could be a Dragon Fly
and wing my way through the sky
I would never be shy
just me and my Dragon Fly!

By moonlight we ride the wind
chase the comets tail for fun
by day we would hide from the sun
our fragile wings would come undone

On darkest nights we would use
fireflies as our guide
we would dip and we would glide
through the heavens open wide
and scatter diamonds in the night sky
my Dragon Fly and me...

And we would wing past our lovers
silent in the night...
to kiss their face in our flight
much to their surprise and delight
my Dragon Fly and me in sight...

Such a view do we share
away up here in the air
of breezes soft through our hair
my Dragon Fly and me a pair...

Per your link:
"String theory strongly suggests that spacetime has eleven dimensions,[2] as opposed to the usual three space and one time, but the theory can easily describe universes with four observable spacetime dimensions as well."
You'll note that my poem alludes to a space of unknown dimensions.

"From dimensions of will and of timelessness,
And at least one dimension of love."
Now what makes it complicated is the concept of viewing our familiar three- or four-dimensional space from the vantage point of a multi-dimensional frame of reference.

That's why I suggested that shadows cast from additional dimensions might be different than the two-dimensional shadows that pool at our feet.

A three-dimensional shadow; a solid object, with even weight to confuse our senses. But a shadow nonetheless, because it changes as the object that is casting it changes its conformation.

And then the really strange suggestion; that we are such shadows, being projected on this stage for an unknown reason.

.

I guess you could call it an example of "thinking outside the box".

Been a while since I studied String Theory, most enjoyable and certainly a delightful framework for a poem on the dimensions of life, profound and funny!
