What would you do if you had the bully pulpit? What policies would you promote. What are the best ways to preserve the US and make the world a better place for our children? This is obviously a vanity, but there is a wide range of opinion represented here and clearly not enough vision is coming out of our elected government. What would you do?

1.) Repeal child labor laws for kids 13 and over.
2.) Defund public education at the federal level (let states handle it).
3.) Start phasing out farm subsidies.
4.) Withdraw from the UN and kick them out of the US.
5.) Stack the Supreme Court with right wingers.
6.) End foreign aid to most countries.
7.) Have Secret Service bring Keanu to me.

Round up anyone and everyone who calls themselves Dimocrats, socialists, communists, homosexuals, bisexuals, Marxists, progressives, union members, etc., send them all to Iran. Bomb the hell out of Iran, pave it, and making a parking lot out of it.

3. Discontinue all but critical and deserved foreign aid and push the U.N. membership to make aid payments to the U.S. to reimburse it for all past foreign aid given.
4. Reject the payment formula for U.S. contributions to the U.N. budget and demand a new formula.
5. Flatten Iran, North Korea, Rusia, Venezuela and China
6. Disband political parties
7. Arrest targeted professors, intellectuals, artists
8. arrest targeted press personnel and media moguls.
9. arrest Nancy Pelosi, Barbara Boxer, Gavin Newsome, and other targeted politicians
10. build hundreds of nuclear reactors and start a massive campaign to drill for oil with goal being to become the biggest exporter of oil on the planet.
11. Attack the worlds major mosques and Islamic schools simultaneously, destroying them
12. start a massive prison building enterprise
13 Level the Arab world
14. reject entry to the U.S. of hundreds of thousands who have undesirable profiles based on religion and other
15. Eject targeted nations from U.N. membership and/or participation.
16. Arrest Al Gore
17. Arrest all the editors of the various IPCC reports
Just too much to do. I need to think about this some more.
I could go on and on but would have to sort all of these out to ensure a smooth transition.

I made a list but to really be serious I have to really think about how I’d go about getting started. The first thing that comes to mind is massive arrests and suspension of constitutional rights of those people. We all know who they are so picking them out would be easy. The process is the tough part.

Then there is a problem of what to do with 22 Arab countries, Russia China, North Korea and Venezuela just destroyed. I really need to give these processes more time to think about them.

1. Implement the FAIR Tax. It can't be worse than the IRS.
2. Set up covert death squads to pursue and execute the people who fund, equip, recruit, proselytize for, or give sanctuary to terrorists, or otherwise support terrorism, no matter what their nationality, their status, or where they are hiding. Bomb the radical madrassas out of existence.
3. Implement war-time censorship rules in support of our troops. Put Pinch Sulzberger and his editorial staff in Ft. Leavenworth for espionage.
4. Let the Generals run the damn war.
5. Secure the border. Enforce the laws against employment of illegal aliens already here. Start negotiations about what to do with the illegals already here (we might want to keep some of them...).
6. Tell Israel to ditch to the “Roadmap.” Give ‘em credit for weapons purchases, and assure them of our support in anything short of general war with the entire Arab world (let us know first about the general war...).
7. Empty Guantanamo - onto a container ship, park it in international waters over a trench. Hire interrogators from countries like North Korea where extreme forms of interrogation are an art form. Tell the International Red Cross, Amnesty International, and other anti-American “bleeding heart” NGOs to kiss my @$$. Scuttle the ship when we're done.
8. Leave the UN and kick it out of the US.
9. Implement a policy regarding the laws and regulations of the Federal government - they can't exceed 100,000 words - TOTAL - and the speaker of the house must memorize them.
10. End "most-favored-nation" status with the PRC.
11. Recognize Taiwan.

Thats a start anyway.

What would you do if you had the bully pulpit?

I'd eliminate the NEA, EPA, OSHA, DEA, DOJ, NHTSA and a plethora of other useless government departments and agencies. I'd privatize social security and make it voluntary. I'd flatten taxes at 10% for ALL earnings. I'd outlaw property tax. I'd de-fund NPR. I'd get rid of the multitude of regulations and rules limiting activities such as drilling for oil.

1) Not try to find excuses to stay in Iraq, but do everything in my power to bring it to a close with just enough troops to assist training of Iraqi troops and forces.

I believe this is already being done.

2) Finish off Al Qaeda in Afghanistan.

3) Form long term strategies to combat terrorism. Emphasize economic aspects along with ideological aspects of roots of Terrorism.

I believe this is already being done.

4) Negotiate peace with Iran and mediate peace between Iran and Isreal and hope to get Iran to ask Hezbollah and other Militias in Iraq to disarm. For giving up Nuclear program and support of terrorist organization, offer Iran Security and Trade and peace with Isreal.

Futile. The present government of Iran is dedicated to bringing about the Shi'ite Eschaton, by hastening the re-emergence of the Twelfth Imam. Everything they are doing, including the taqqiyah (deception) tactics of seeming to cooperate and participate in negotiations, is bent toward this goal.

It s not necessary for us to believe it. It is necessary for us to know that they believe it, and act accordingly.

5) Figure out strategies to strengthen Dollar. If the choice is between fighting inflation or fighting recession, fight inflation first.

I don't know whether this is being done. We of the working poor are doing OK, even if we have had to cut back on luxuries. I'm personally not participating in any recession.

6) Reach out to all the allies or possible allies in the world to make them partners in global endeavor and get away from “you are with us or against us” nonsense. Project more humble and freindly image of US, rather than cold blooded mean bully.

We tried that. It got us nowhere. It's time for the rest of the world to choose up sides. If we just fight it, the way you want to fight it in para 2 above, but on a global scale, it will be over a whole lot quicker than if we waste time wheedling, cajoling, and trying to talk people who minimally don't give a rat's rump for us into at least not helping those who actually seek to destroy us.

7) Fight to death on drilling. Taking the cost of Oil out is the ONLY way now to maintain contuning GROWTH of economy. Cutting taxes are soon to violate law of diminishing returns.

8) Treat Education as NATIONAL SECURITY issue. Just like we are unafraid to spend trillions on trumped up wars, we should be unafraid to engage in whatever spending is necessary to make sure we have the BEST education system from top to bottom. Open the gates for hardworking smart and intelligent people and redirect the global brain-drain back in the direction of US.

Treat education as a local issue, and get the Federal Government out of it entirely. (Amendment 10)

9) Cut out waste and install policies that catch waste in Federal Spending. Make National Debt my Holy Grail and hammer it day and night till people fear that more than they fear loss of job or anything else. Define it as root cause of ALL our money troubles.

Eliminate Federal departments, functions, and jobs currently in violation of Amendment 10. Apply the resulting budgetary savings, half to tax refunds, half to debt retirement.

10) I am sick of hearing about how Military projects that over-run cost. Hundreds of Billion every year. Time to put an end to that wastage too.

Agreed. Pay out the bid funds, then hold the contractors responsible to complete the work without presenting any further bills. Require refunds, or seizure and liquidation of the contractors with the proceeds going back to the funding agency, if they fail to complete the work.

11) Take the savings from Military wastage and invest in BEST weapon on face of the Earth - The American Soldier. All our fancy submarines and stealth bombers are WORTHLESS in Iraq and Afghanistan. Ordinary soliders have to win the WOT. Invest in them. Recruit, Train and Reward the deadliest force every assembled.

12) Be open to all possibilites with respect to Healthcare reform, including going to battle with lawyers and drug companies. Cost needs to be managed and those two industries are the primary reason everything is expensive.

Do with healthcare as with Education (see above). Sorry, that's not Federal business.

13) Get out of funding stupid projects like Ethanol.

14) Give all the necessary incentives to first introduce Electric and Flex Fuel Cars and then lay the ground work for CHEAPER ELECTRICITY. Educate people on how Oil and Electricity are TWO DIFFERENT issues.

No problem with cash awards for specific projects. Some requirement for marketability should be included; a tractor-trailer rig that runs 6000 miles on a 35-gallon bag of household trash is all well and good, but if it costs $1.4 million a copy, it ain't worth it. Yet.

15) Declare Jihad on National Debt. Be prepare to be assasinated by agents of Central bankers. Issue Hard Currency backed by Gold or other commodities and stop incurring further debt from Central Bankers and permanently enslaving US population.

Paying the thing off would be sufficient, the means and will to do it obtaining.

16) Stay out of the way of Entrepreuners and Capitalists. However, INCREASE regulations where necessary so we don’t encount more MULTI-TRILLION-DOLLAR Ponze schemes as created by Freddy Mac and Fanny Mae.

Regulate only in accordance with the COTUS, especially Amendment 10.

17) Be sneaky about immigration reform and at first only focus on TOUGH penalties for EMPLOYERS who hire illegals. That alone can reverse the tide.

Partial Agreed. I thing the Deportation Express buses need to be out, visible, and obvious.

18) Not take any NEW liabilities for Government and try to get away from the ones that Bush and others have taken. Like 30 trillion dollars for providing the drugs in future. Its a STUPID program and take advantage of BUSH’s unpopularity, and promise MORE as long as we can SCRAP this current liability and then BREAK the promise and risk Presidency.

19) Use the example of even Socialist Regimes in Europe that allow investments in PERSONAL ACCOUNTS for retirement and try to fix the retirement/SS problem in future.

20) Improve race relations.

That will require the cooperation of the Privileged Professional Perpetual Victim Class (P3VC), which has a vested interest in the continued burning of crosses, dangling of nooses, and use (by Unauthorized Personnel) of the N-word. In other words....ain't gonna happen.

I would seal the borders, North and South, and instruct all ICE agents to begin enforcing the letter of the law. I would prosecute businesses that encouraged the hiring of criminal trespassers (illegal aliens), and any deportees would be taken from the U.S. border to the southern border of Mexico before letting them off the buses. (What’s the use of dumping them in Tijuana or Juarez? They just cross again that afternoon.)

And don't land the plane, fly low and push them out at about six to ten feet above the ground. No reason to stop an airplane in motion just for border jumpers.
