Obnoxious cats laughed at us when dog leash law fever spread throughout this country’s cities, but now we canines are the ones chuckling as the first kitty leash law shot comes across the bow. If it passes, cats can say goodbye to freelance pooping and hello to being watched while doing their business.
(Howard Feiner is so annoyed with the cat droppings in his yard, he has logged the kitties’ leavings and put flags up to mark the spots. He has done this for a couple of reasons.

Well Said! My neighbor created a cat habitat in his backyard but the fence means nothing to the cats.
My dogs are mostly house dogs, so they do not mess in others yards or bark incessantly. They do however, wake me up when they hear the cats fight. Population control is in effect.
Free range kitties have substantially reduced the incidence of Giant Canada Geese in this area and now our sidewalks are no longer green and slimey.
The funny thing is my wife saw the same cat when she was walking the dog and it wasn't a neighbor's cat, it was skinny and needed food. So now she feels guilty. If I find that cat it will be like the roach motel, they check in but never leave unless we find an adoptive family.
I seriously don't believe cats kill 5 million birds a year. Think of it as improving the breed by culling the week.
Funny you should mention bird feeders. My wife has one she likes to look at and has caught more than one cat at the bird smorgasborg. I just laugh, I love cats and if I can catch them then they live inside our house until we adopt them out or we keep them.
Since I dislike birds intensely, I don’t loose sleep over them becoming a cat’s dinner. It’s not like they’re killing bald Eagles but I would never kill a bird either.
One more thing, idiots who let their house cats out are well, idiots. I live in the Foothills where there are lots of predators so you would think people would make the connection with their missing cat and the wonderful wild back to nature experience they had when they saw a Coyote crossing the road.

There is no way that I could leash my cats. They would go nuts, I already tried that. However, they both are fixed and don’t leave the yard. Plus they have all their shots.
The dogs around here run loose and my cats defend their yard. The dogs are scared of them.
If you can leash a cat....WOW! Give me some tips..hehehehehe

I don't think the egregious act was cat poop, but rather large amount of Dove feathers, blood and bloody skeletal remains of these birds all over a pristine landscaped yard.
Oh Brother....a bunch of people with sticks up their butt. Close minded losers.

I wasn’t upset when my blue russian went missing. I knew we have a great horned owl in the neighborhood and that Chewie loved to sit in the evening on cars. I figured that his last thought as he was carried off by that owl was, “I can fly!!!!” He had a great life. If he had lived inside, I would have killed him.
birds are prey species. They need a preditor to keep them healthy. We call the birds we feed, welfare birds and popcorn snacks. We have tons of birds in our neighborhood.
I’m of the opinion that God gave the cats ‘free access’ to wildlife. It’s called thinning the herd. If a bird is to slow, then that’s NATURE.
Before one of my cats (who resided in my barn) got to old to be out on her own she hunted on all sides of my property and my neighbors loved it. She kept the rodents to a minimum, the snakes left town, and the rabbits stayed out of their gardens.
She knew birds and squirrels were a no-no, and I only had to scold her once about the cardinal.
That’s funny. Try giving your cat a pill, you’ll need more than a band aid to cover that wound.
Since when is it considered a "loser" to mind your own business?
I guess a "winner" is someone who tolerates neighbors who have no social graces to a point where it infringes on their property?
It's too bad for you that you finally got a different perspective to the view that your cat has the right to do any thing it wants, even on someone else's property. You also prefer to speak with emotions and are completely void of common sense and common courtesy when it comes to unleashed animals.
If you want your kitty safe, keep it in your home, or don't complain if/when something happens to it.
We just bought a 7 week old mini dachshund. She is still tiny. My wife took her out to potty one night and two owls were sitting in the tree right above.
However, Eastern screech owls are not much bigger than a large and fat pigeon, so I don't think our puppy is in much danger.
People who have pristine lawns and kill cats that walk on their pristine property are losers. They are shallow, miserable human beings.
