I wasn’t upset when my blue russian went missing. I knew we have a great horned owl in the neighborhood and that Chewie loved to sit in the evening on cars. I figured that his last thought as he was carried off by that owl was, “I can fly!!!!” He had a great life. If he had lived inside, I would have killed him.

We have several Easter screech owls around our home. In fact, we saw 4 chics raised this spring from our neighbors bird/owl house. They finally spread out recently after staying close since birth.

We just bought a 7 week old mini dachshund. She is still tiny. My wife took her out to potty one night and two owls were sitting in the tree right above.

However, Eastern screech owls are not much bigger than a large and fat pigeon, so I don't think our puppy is in much danger.
